Or will the "Amoeba outlive(s) the Tiger" (Trevanian/Shibumi)?
Personally, I also put some time into performing some songs like "Come Monday", "Goodtime Charlie's Got The Blues", around Town. Practicing "Kentucky Rain" for this too. Love Joe South's singing and songs. Them Outlaws too. That kind of thang. Soulful Country, and "Country-Soul". Just to give you my bias.
The last "boom" in Country I really enjoyed was the so-called "Neo-Traditional" movement. "King" George. Alan Jackson, and the like.
Looking forward to your thoughts and comments, on the degree "Traditionalism" is influencing the charts... Thanks, Chris

Incidentally, my band does "Charlie" too, except I changed "thirty three" to "sixty three"......

May we both sing "93" someday ! Chris Not me, unless I win the lottery or 70 year old retro country singers suddenly become wildly popular. My financial resources will run out in approximately 5 to 7 years and I have no desire to become a useless old person doddering around on a walker.
Incidentally, my band has been working up "Now and Then There's a Fool Such As I", "Walkin' The Floor Over You" and a couple of Carl Perkins rockabilly tunes.
Wish I could sing it like Hank....

Kidding aside John, I wish you many more years. And the health and prosperity to go along with that. Plus "only the good die young!" What a great singer and song. I love soulful Country. Chris

Thanks John. With all due respect to the other RGO regulars... I hope they haven't mostly "given up" on the Country genre. (the silence is somewhat deafening-as to other participation on this thread)
I guess the general umbrella of "Americana" has effectively created a haven, for musicians with similar taste as ours. Intutively, however, I feel that there are going to be some new artists/bands that'll shake up/effectively compete, with the current "Bro-Country" status quo. Chris

There are lots of youngsters who love real traditional country music. I suspect the “pop” hijacking will eventually fall out of favor for something else, as it has always done historically.
Or maybe not...
