I should also add that most of the states seeing higher costs were thrown under the bus by their governors who were politically expedient, instead of doing right by their constituents, read the forbes article, and look at the map, it's short as hell. All the states suffering increases had governors that denied setting up exchanges, so the people now pay for it, and their states created less jobs, and generated less revenue to boot, so stupid its amazing.

Good luck going on tour. Vacationing. Traveling for work. It's unrealistic. The medical industry will not be getting smaller, divesting into local organizations. It will encourage one state to keep up with the Joneses and they will all pretty much be the same. no it won't, it'll encourage them to get away with what ever they can when they lobby the local politicians, lets keep it real, exactly like they used to, cept WAAAAY worse by your standard, states have always controlled their health insurance until the ACA, and cost were flying out of control, the fact is that the ACA has slowed exploding healthcare costs, NJ controlled their insurance affairs, so did Cali, all things being equal, my brother used to pay $350 a month for health insurance, and $250 a month for car insurance, while i paid $145 for health, and $32 a month for car, what's wrong with that picture? Unregulated free market capitalism is a fail, see bipartisan financial crash 2008, it is a must to have oversight, without it the greed becomes parasitic, sucking it's host until death, in turn killing itself, again, see bipartisan financial crash 2008. the fact is the US healthcare system is woefully bad, the only thing it's good at is costing more with a lesser positive outcome than every other first world country/economy on the planet, the one thing it excels at is catastrophic trauma care. There is a glimmer of hope though, the rising costs of healthcare have declined 1/2 since the ACA, they're still going up, but less than 1/2 the rate of rise as prior to the ACA, and that is good news no matter your party affiliation. there is nothing political about this, the facts are the facts, the lead link here is from Forbes for god sake, read it! www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2014/10/31/key-study-on-obamacare-2015-premium-rates-is-out-and-you-wont-believe-whats-going-to-happen/#7fe272fe6c52www.factcheck.org/2014/02/aca-impact-on-per-capita-cost-of-health-care/www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2015/oct/25/donald-trump/trump-obamacare-health-care-premiums-going-35-45-5/

everyone took tunes that were in the ethos for decades and decades, reworked them, and called them their own, stairway to heaven is absolutely nothing like that taurus turd, seriously you have to be joking.
I'm sure when the levee breaks, and whole lotta love are rips to... smh, they used the lyrics as tributes to their hero's, the whole "what's in it for me crowd" didn't exist back then.

Same song by a mile. Zep took this riff from the tune and built a full tune mainly around that riff. 75% of the Zep tune is that riff. this is just ridiculous Jes, you're wrong.

2 drummers seems a bit of a distraction no? now you have to glare at 2 dudes instead of one when they're bashing the cymbals too much! not to mention, all the stupid shit drummers do in duplicate , plus you'll have to work double time ragging on them with other band mates! Seriously though, double drums are cool when the same drummer double tracks himself, JB in all his imperfect/perfect musical bombastic glory!

I have a 90 gig SSD drive, and I ended up getting a samsung 250gig SSD to write to, then i'll use a pair of hitachi 2T spin drives to back up everything.... twice, and i'm going to use backblaze as well, that should give me plenty of redundancy and some peace of mind.
I will make a nightly disk image via timemachine of my 90gig ssd OS drive on the pair of 2T spin drives, and use the 90gig ssd till it fails, then i'll transfer the 250gig ssd to the OS drive, and get another 250gig to write to, rinse/repeat, seems a decent plan to me.

it's always about fire, but empty children being the biggest stars in the world? wtf? Children, yes children rarely have anything important to say, and today's children pop stars are a joke, they represent the larger joke of our US society as a whole, in most other cultures around the world, successful musicians are indeed older, and are revered for the interesting stories they tell musically, as far as US pop, back in the 70's you had your Leif Garrett/Shaun Cassidy types, but they were the outliers, the stars of the day were indeed older, much older, they weren't burdened by the horrors of video, even if they were, David Bowie at his biggest was 37 years old! It's become an utterly shallow pool, make no mistake, as soon as TS shows some crows feet around her eyes, she's done, video indeed killed the radio star, and without it and autotune, most of today's pop cesspool wouldn't even be a blip on the radar, and that includes TS(do I need to repost her squallering vid?).
The reason i mention this is because it's hard to suck any worse later in your career if you totally suck to begin with. besides, these "old" people still put out good albums, but their fans are empty, closed off memorybots, so there is no audience anymore... "more cowbell! more cowbell! more cowbell!", smh, now get off my damn lawn!!!

The ACA has a huge marriage penalty with regards to subsidies. I can imagine some number of self employed couples choosing to divorce so they can each get the subsidy. ? A "penalty" if u don't qualify for a subsidy? it's NOT a "penalty", u just DONT QUALIFY, and have to pay what the PRIVATE insurance company's charge u. The ACA is a regulation, not an insurance co who sets rates, y'all act like insurance companies were giving u a free ride before it happened, and that's total BS, they sucked then, and they suck a tiny bit less for most now, that's the problem with this stuff, no one checks the facts. BTW, married people with children have it made, they get all kinds of tax breaks, single people get a "penalty" for being single..., or put another way, they don't qualify for the subsidies.

dexter. can you email me hi res photos of the inside of your box? I just fixed a clients noisy headphone amp in his box. I am curious if they are the same issue. I actually removed the headphone amp completely for diagnosing the problem. The noise is still there. Just so everyone knows, my unit is a Superbeast I, not II. And yes there is 60hz hum in my previous clip, but I said that the new dual powersupply I made got rid of that hum. I also replaced the crystal for the dix9211 with a CMOS clock oscillator -- it changed the noise quite a bit. Listen: Clip
The part of the clip with no noise is from disconnecting the clock oscillator after the unit is locked to the signal. It does still work after disabling the oscillator but as Svart said the PLL will start to drift, so it's not really a suitable fix to just switch it off. PS: This is on the noise floor of the unit. You have to turn it up fairly loud to hear this stuff, but it should not be there. If you were going to use outboard gear like a slammed compressor, or reamp guitars through a high gain amp - it's not going to be usable with this noise. that seems a 480hz buzz with harmonics, that is related to 60Hz directly, I'm still betting it's a grounding issue?

I have a buddie selling a Rode K2 if anyone is looking for one. i've been thinking about selling my fully modded Rode K2 with Tim Campbell CT12 capsule...., it sounds beautiful, but not really my style as a modern pop mic, i have other ideas for building a more needed style of replacement, or pay toward console parts that i need to finish this thing up, but i decided to give it another go around before i make a possible bad decision

The 24Ai is the ADC equivalent of the 24Ao DAC unit. I do not know, if it could hold up with the quality of the 24Ao, which is really, really good, and not only for it's price. I don't think this could be possible, DACs are a bit easier to get really good than ADCs... The 16A can not hold up to the 24Ao with DAC quality for a simple reason - it's a more complicated design, supposed to be a 1RU allrounder device, ADCs and DACs. Hard to get that as clean in a pcb design, i guess, if possible at all. Also from what i read they use different chips. I just read what BLA do to the 24Ao in their premium mod. If i understand it right, they "only" improve decoupling of the converter chips and the opamps and replace the wordclock crystal. That's cool, if this already brings a perceptible improvement. I guess they did not see much possibility for improvement in changing the opamps, as they might already be the best choice in this design. Are they the National LME49720? Can't remember if it had been said before, but if these are the ones, it may be hard to improve without making the 1RU unit with 24ch a baking oven... oh but that oven beeeeee coookin!!!

Guys, is the Motu 24ai the equal of the Ao? I believe the 24AO out specs the 16A, and Dan D mentioned a more robust platform to mod, not as delicate as the 16, he also noted that it doesn't sound as good as the RM stuff. If I had a do over, i'd switch to Logic and go 24Ai/2-24Ao and mod them, the vanilla PT being locked at 32 analog outs is another arbitrary fuck stick from Avid.

Those of you who prepaid for one of these, i hope you realize that you probably could have paid off a symphony or other Industry-Standard converter via sweetwater and already have had it for months, if not a couple years. It doesn't matter how good this RM converter is IF YOU DONT HAVE IT IN YOUR HANDS! sorry not sorry, but y'all are suckers for giving him your money with hopes of ever being able to use the unit within the next year lol chuck, don't be an asshat 8) and btw, the ones I have smoke the symphony, and not by a little 8)

Hand made from scratch by a wood shop down the street from me. He took all the elements that I really like in different gobos and put them in an all inclusive package for me. For those who are wondering, here are the pics of them with the last pic being in use. www.customwoodworksnashville.com/cool, but there was a company you posted about that made stackable blocks?

I guess the advantage of 51x 24v rails is less cost on build parts? or is there a performance difference? does it slow the transient response down being converted up? probably not with electricity moving at 15,000 mps haha
It would seem that for resale value it may be wise to stay away from building at 24v unless u intend to never sell... like me, or sell to a fellow 51x box owner, the 51x boxes are ridiculously stout by any standard!

Was talking to sll earlier and he mentioned he P84s as being really, really good. Maybe he can chime in on the particular things that John did that others didn't. Anyway, it got me thinking about the rest of the line. I had a 2247LE years ago and from what I remember, it was a really good mic...but it was somewhat a victim of my never-ending mic quest...and I'm much more educated than I was 10 years ago. It makes me wonder how many things I either mid-attributed or just plain missed. I.e. How can you truly judge a mic through something like an MR816 and a pair of Mackie monitors? (No offense, Tony). Anyone using Peluso? Thoughts? I'd love to try the P12, 2247 (again) and P67. none taken, just own them for 17 years and know them like the back of your hand, you'd be surprised what you could hear through them. John Peluso knows his stuff no doubt, the only problem with his 84 knocks is they cost as much as used 84's, how are you liking yours? you don't talk about it much... BTW, i was looking at a C12 freq plot today, it had a healthy dip at 2k that made me think of you.

I just looked up the Merging Hapi, here's the thing i don't get, why do these manufacturers insist on combining conversion with pre's? I'm in need of straight up multi channel AES compatible ADC's, i have great pre's, and have no interest in them being combined with my conversion.

The other converters I was considering were the Merging Hapi... they speck about the best out and are balls clear and amazing!!!!!! bot to me for distance orchestra recording and some classical stuff but I personally find them like a laboratory environment and not musical for my needs at all... this is where i part ways with a lot of guys, i do indeed want very neutral, natural sounding conversion, if I want color, i'll slap my gear(vp28 anyone) that smokes any transformer these guys stick permanently in front of a converter, then if i don't want color for something, i'm not stuck with it, it's a more versatile stance no matter how you slice it, and i dig that versatility.
