Just listened to that album the other day and thought the same. Couldn’t tell whether it’s overt, or I can just hear auto tune better now. Sounds like Melodyne to me, only cause I’ve worked with it a bunch.

FYI, I sold my MKI to pay for my MKII, so no need to sell me on it.

Yeah, but why not just a MKII at that point? What’s the diff? OMG . . . at the risk of sounding like the latest 'evangelist' for stam, sorry everyone but I only tell the truth which is why I get paid to market, The Mark 1 SOLVED some of the problems with the OG Fairchild. Hate me. Like Ricky Gervais says, I don't care . . . but I'm only telling the truth, right stam ? Ok. What problems? Problems an MKII can’t solve?

DM would be great for recording two different signals, as you know. Maybe itemize full possible features/price point and get peeps to vote ? Yeah, but why not just a MKII at that point? What’s the diff?

Up for grabs is my excellent Coleman Audio M3 monitor controller. I'm down to just one pair of monitors now, so this has been sitting unused. The Coleman Audio M3 monitor controller allows you to switch between four stereo inputs and three stereo outputs, and control the volume and mute of your speakers and headphones. Features include: - passive control room signal path, which means it does not alter the sound quality or introduce noise or distortion to your audio. - uses a four-gang 47-position stepped attenuator that tracks within ±0.05dB, ensuring accurate and consistent stereo imaging at any level - mono button that sums the left and right channels to a mono signal, which can help you check for mono compatibility. - headphone output with its own separate volume control, which allows you to monitor your audio privately or independently from the main speakers - balanced XLR connectors for all inputs and outputs, which provide high-quality and noise-free connections to your audio devices - 1U rack-mountable design, which saves space and integrates easily with your existing equipment Has some rack rash and a rack ear that has some wear/bend. Tried to capture the best I could in photos. 400 plus shipping, PP F&F.

It's fine. I just wanted to know if the crosstalk is intentional. Hi, Yes, it’s intentional. Which sections do you have enabled by the way? For the least amount of left/right variation I would set Dyna Realism to SYM mode. Brad Ironically, I don’t have the plug-in. I have the HW.

I ended up doing some surgical clip gain. Worked fine enough for me. Tried the RX9 thing. Bit of a pain.

drbill is there supposed to be crosstalk between channels in the HW? I'm sending two mono tracks, hard panned L and R. And I'm getting a little of the right channel signal in the left. And vice versa. Is this the way it's supposed to operate? Welcome to analog. If you're using hardware - it is what it is. Its a stereo box - not a dual mono box. A pair of Chroma's or a Chroma + addresses those issues with extremely similar sonics. If you're using the software, use two instances and problem solved. Again, we modeled this plugin identically after the hardware. If you need that type of separation - use two instances - or two hardware Silver Bullets, or a pair of Chroma's!! <thumbsup> Hope that helps. It's fine. I just wanted to know if the crosstalk is intentional.

I'll buy on Reverb -- with preceding communication with the seller. But I won't sell on Reverb...that's fucking nuts, especially with the 1099 BS they have to now do. GS and RGO classifieds for me! Yeah, as long as it’s Venmo or F&F. PayPal will 1099 ya too.

I used to use clip gain for this a while back but prefer RX9 these days. There are various ways to do it in RX, but I adopted Sean's method he shared here a few months ago on another thread. Using RX connect and spatial repair, I highlight the area and attenuate in small increments until it sounds good. I use Spatial repair attenuate all the time for all sorts of random fixes. Usually with much less strength than the default settings. I’ll take another go at it. RX9 seemed to lop off the high end a lot.

What’s your tips and tricks for getting rid of string noise in the mix? Finger picked acoustic. Clip gain individual squeaks? RX9?

Just got a pair of Stam 87T’s, based on the praise from some in this thread. Wow. They sound really good. I am impressed. Low end reach, air up top with a Neumann midrange. Less than 2k shipped to my door within two weeks of purchase.

I'm well past the Microcenter return window. I emailed Hakko, and they pretty much said it was something on my end. But, they would take a look at it if I mailed it in. I suppose I'm going to have to pay for shipping both ways, and most likely a bench or repair fee (if needed), so wouldn't I fair just as well buying a new one? Sucks that's the reality. Disposable product culture.

I recently purchased an FX888D soldering station and have had a strange issue. I'm getting shocked while using it. It happens when I'm holding the iron in one hand, and solder in the other, while my feet (no shoes) are touching the concrete floor. I also get shocked through the top of the plastic case on the control unit when my feet are touching the concrete floor. It's not a huge biting shock, but tingly enough to be uncomfortable. Is there a grounding issue with my Hakko? Wow. Never heard of such a thing, but yes that's some kind of grounding issue. YOU are becoming a ground for something. Now, we don't know if it's the Haako or if it's your outlet/feed though. My previous Hakko never did this.

I think it’s around 40hz or so? They call it the rumble filter. Interesting - it sounds a little higher than 40hz We’re talking the S2 jumper mod, right?

I had Klaus put a switch in mine. I nearly always prefer bypassing the HP.
Also he put a hand picked Amperex tube in it, plus tweaked the capsule. Sounds amazing - like a finished record.
What is the cutoff frequency of the jumpered-HP, do you know? I think it’s around 40hz or so? They call it the rumble filter.

87t tube mics with mods shipped super fast! Impressed. Now I just need to open them up and test them as fast as Josh shipped them! I just got a pair of 87t’s. They sound really, really great!

Case in point. Just last night I messaged Apple with a problem. Every time I plug my phone into my car, the Apple Music app auto plays music. Always the same song, and not one I've ever purchased. I can't make it stop. The first question that was asked, "What's your iOS?" After that, I was told to update my software. And that's where the support ended. OMG do you drive a Toyota Corolla by any chance? My wife had this same problem! Whenever she started the car with her phone plugged in, it would immediately play ABC by The Jackson 5. So the first thing she'd hear when turning the car on would be Michael Jackson belting out " BOPBOP BOP BAH-BOOOOH!" LOL! It was especially funny she had turned the car off with the volume set pretty loud. Annoyed the piss out her, but I always got a kick out of it. I always assumed it was because it defaulted to playing all songs alphabetically or something. Anyway, she got a new car and it doesn't do it anymore. Must've been something to w/ the interface of the phone to the car. Ha. I have no idea. I was hoping Apple would tell me. I was sure it was some deep dive menu setting. Seems they won't offer a single bit of insight until I'm on the latest OS. Super frustrating.

I have just purchased the M2pro 14” MacBook Pro and use it with pro tools. It is a really decent system that I am struggling to fault at this stage. Current track (yes I still mix; mainly foreign language songs for large choral groups) has 36 individual takes, all recorded in different locations so lots of elastic audio and routing to finish with a nice result. No nonsense and no crashes from the Mac. My old m1 MacBook Pro just couldn’t handle the track count and plugs. I’d also like to comment on the migrating between the two MacBooks. It was seamless, all my plugs and licenses, the whole lot with little to no fuss other than the few hours it took for them to do their thing! The m chips are a no brainer if you need a mobile solution! Love it. And to broach the topic of the M3; just because they release it, doesn’t mean the rest stop working! Find a system that works for you and you should see a minimum 5 years before you start longing for a new one…… I purchased my Intel iMac right before the M1 dropped. I purchased knowing the processor upgrade was right around the corner. My Intel iMac has been generally rock solid and never lacking in power. Plus, I didn't have to endure all of the plugin incompatibility issues. I can't see the need to upgrade for many years. And by that time, the processing power of computers that will be available should be pretty sweet.
