The other half of "everything matters," is "none of it matters." Too much emphasis on the first one, be reminded of the second one. And vice versa.
I think obsessive audio types often skew too far in the neurotic "detail oriented" direction, which can quickly result in psychosis of some sort. You can look at some of the thoughts people have been having here as an example.
I hesitate to discuss "summing" in general because once you've started to discuss it you're already far off in the weeds. The deeper you get, the more lost you are.
In my understanding, the light at the end of the tunnel is, "none of this really matters in any meaningful way." That can be your freedom.

I like analogue. Modelo tastes better with a console then a mouse. IMO Sounds less scary than drinking in front of the computer.

This thing will live and die by the quality of the drivers / software, just like any other interface. Hope they can get that right.

That's a good one, "Fun." It is a "good one". To each, their own. If you're not having fun making music... what the hell is wrong with you?

That's a good one, "Fun." I hate using rack gear, it's negative fun for me. That's the predominant reason I keep using plugins.

The new Red Hot Chili Peppers single sounds In The Box to me, kind of small and generic sounding mix. The chorus of that song is pretty decent. The verses kind of a big whatever.

I'll get the jerseys made up, a theme song, mascots, hotdogs and beer, and we'll have a "Dr. Bill vs RGO People" match up game! I'm already seeing the teams form.
Dr. Bill's team is called the "Silver Bullets" and the other team is called "Reasonable Doubters."

Wow, what a legend indeed. So much influence, so many groundbreaking designs, stayed busy till the day he died. He left a lot of good things for the rest of us.

You don't need one, and no I don't care to elaborate.

Not really…I had to install Sampletank 4 and the IK Product Manager just to run Syntronik, but that was still fairly breezy. Good to know, I'm going for it... (at the last minute)

I gave in and got the Syntronik 2 bundle for $35. I like rolling my own presets from the raw oscillator samples (I think the presets are over processed), but I can definitely hear the improvement from the way the filter sounds/responds compared to my experience with the Syntronik 1 engine. Did you have any trouble with the installation?

Technically (don't shoot me) you shouldn't be using audio cables for this connection. You "should" be using coaxial 75 Ohm or maybe 110 Ohm cable. If you have a three wire RCA cable, use the video one, the "yellow" one, not the red and white ones, and it should work fine. Long cable runs, unmatched impedance, can result in imaging or reflections from receiver back to transmitter. svart can tell us more than we should know, but it's good to have a basic idea of "what the hell is going on." It's a digital signal, not an analog audio signal, the rules are different, including the cabling. Whether or not you need impedance controlled conductors (traces, cables, etc) is usually based on a rule of thumb. That being 1/10 of the wavelength of the highest frequency of interest. SPDIF edge rates can be around 3MHz, so that's about 2000" of wavelength of a ground-referenced conductor. One tenth of that is 200" or about 16 feet. Anything less than that would probably be fine with any decent cable regardless of whether or not it was impedance controlled. In analog video, the yellow conductor is usually the same as the red and white conductors. The color is only to signify the type of signal, not impedance control. And the physics rules are the same for analog and digital, but the electrical effects are perceived differently. Any reflected signal can interfere with the incident signal. Analog signals just distort more, whereas digital signals will eventually either fail to be detected or will have issues like multiple triggering. Thanks, svart. I have some cable that has a thicker video wire. I haven't tested it with an ohm-meter. Not sure if there's a big difference in geometry between coax video/cable and regular shielded audio wire. But I've heard that symmetrical geometry is important? Appreciate the knowledge as always!

In my mind "Inflation Nation" and Reverb seller's typical asking prices are highly correlated.

BLA Revolution 2x2 is a Coaxial / SPDIF / RCA connection. NOT Toslink, not optical, not fiber, not ADAT, not SMUX, etc. If this is your misunderstanding, wow! Good one LOL. Yeah man, it’s a glorified RCA. Some of the higher end RCA cables tend to fit very snuggly in my experience. My addiction is sad. Just got a Ruby. Been playing it for about 2 hours. I'm going back and forth with the AxeFX...and I can tell you the Ruby objectively sounds better. Axe sounds great...until you turn the Ruby on. That Brilliant channel with the Blue speaker is just classic AC 30 dominance. Got the Dream on order. I think the Ruby was the one that interested me, out of these three. Followed by hmmmm for the Dream and nooooo for the Woodrow. At least based on the three video demos posted. So that's the one I would have gone for, too.

I was inspired by all this "Pulsar madness" to pull out Mu for the first time in many moons, used it on mix bus, on an acoustic guitar track. Anyway it worked out great!
Also used the Echorec on every song on the punk EP I just finished mixing (10 months of what the hell is going on.)

I really want to get the Boss one called IR-200. I think it beats all of these (for me, obviously.) Never owned any of them, though. I have a lot of Katanas though, and other modern Boss super-pedals.

I'm trying not to buy almost every Boss 500 series pedal, and a lot of the 200 series and compact series as well. Pretty easy not too because I have no money!

Think you need a link of some sort for that price. Not that I have $59 by 2 days from now, I don't. I could ask their support I guess. Check your spam folder. I believe the offer was til the end of June, but I'm not in front of the email. It's a coupon code for checkout, not a link. DM if you need it. Thanks, Dr.Bill!!
