Buy yourself a Røde NT2a, drop the polarization down to 55 volts and put your favorite CK12 capsule in it. You will end up with an incredible mic. If you want a different flavor drop a K47 or M7 in it. Not trying to be a smart arse Tim but I attempted to contact you at least a couple of times on your business email and also through this site after you advised I do that with my NT 2000 however I received no follow up reply - I guess you had a head full of busy but I'd love to get one of your caps if you've got one spare I don't really trust any other CK12s to make it worth my while (not that I truly know). Cheers, Ross

Nice sound Wiz ; love that you used upright - what is it? One thing is for sure no one's going to say the mic is crap - as gmichael says , you'll sell some for Ben . Thanks for the track. Cheers, Ross

interesting how Ben with all his intimate knowledge of 67s, cant tell them apart. Cheers, Ross Who said “Ben can’t tell them apart”? I'm possibly misinterpreting here , sorry if that's the case. Not meant to be in any way a derogatory comment Ben , was really a way of commenting on how close the mics are. Cheers, Ross

Well there you go - a manuf responding in a great manner will mean exponential sales if the product is as good as Wiz has found it to be. What a great investment for Ben. I'm rapt for both parties. good news is great news. Cheers, Ross

I reckon we are all jumping the gun ; implications that it is a disguised "cheap" mic do the manuf a dis-service as it's around half the price of other new 251's and could well be in the ball park. The internet can make it hard on a decent company trying to make a reasonable dollar for services rendered. Cheers, Ross

Reporting back on the fix I've finally found after shedding hair i did't have.... Got up at 2:30 last night and thought i'd give it another shot, searching Presonus support and waddaya know - the program needs to have "allow studio one access to the Mac's microphone" turned on in the Computer's Security and Privacy settings. It was probably in the manual somewhere (who reads them?) but I would have thought all the getting started vids would have mentioned it somewhere. On the surface it makes no sense as a mac Mini has no bl**dy microphone. Probably just another example of me showing my age and lack of adaptability but a wasted week of futzing around and frustration followed by "thank god for that" is how it feels. Thanks for watching and chiming in guys, hopefully this helps someone else. Cheers, Ross

That's a big call without substantiation craigmorris; if it's a higher end capsule would be nice if they'd define it given the crowd it's pitched to. Cheers, Ross

Yes, Radio Shack type extension headphone cables are IME shit from day one. I have I almost hate to say , the aforementioned Behringer which has been foolproof for at least 15 years and no act has complained about the sound. Sure they're not a boutique sound but they are more than good enough to do the job - it's headphone tracking not audiophile critiquing. Cheers, Ross

Thanks Kcatt, as I say , Logic works (as you'd surely hope}, it's S1 that doesn't see input audio in a new song even though it's patched properly yet it outputs it from a demo song- tear the hair out stuff, Not sure I really want to invest time in Logic though as ' Tools or S1 are in my wheelhouse and S1 Artist which was free with a Faderport would appear to suit my needs ; if. not I can upgrade from an old V1.5 pro to v6 pro for not much dollar. Hi guys, anybody have success with this newest update outside of Logic?
Am trying to work out what DAW to settle on and in Studio One Artist V 6 the outputs work with demo songs but inputs show no sound even though the interface and it's 10 channels are recognised by S1 and I've patched them as required to tracks. In frustration I downloaded Logic's 90 day free trial and it works. (yes Rosetta 2 is installed) . Don't ask me about ProTools as that's it's own shit fight!
Am bedding in an M2 mini pro and can only assume it's the O.S. that it came with is the issue?
let me know if you've any experience to parallel mine please.
Cheers, Ross

The TLM 170 is (or was when i used it in the 90s) a great universal mic. If u87 clones are allowed in the discussion then the Serrano might be a great option. Cheers, Ross

Thanks for this John , IMO your voice is too sweet ( in a good way) to show up major flaws; it would sound good on a 57. That said , the feeling i got from the Soyuz made it just that bit better. Do you still have your 251 ? - somehow I imagine that would be the best fit.
Cheers, Ross

The AT 25 is a no nonsense, no hyped solid little mongrel both in sound and physically. I dropped it on my big toe from 3' 3 months ago and the nail is still purple. if it had hit the ground it would have dented the lino! Tonally they are more biased towards upper bass - our cajon player swears by it. Cheers, Ross
