With all the talk about 1176s lately, I just have to put in a plug for the Audioscape 76A. Tracking some vocals today using the 76A and the Silver Bullet preamp on the Neve setting with the Soyuz 017 and I could not be happier with the outcome. Also tried it as a hardware insert in Pro Tools on an electric guitar and that sounded awesome also. It is a good time for gear with all of this great high quality stuff at an affordable price.

Sounds like an awesome chain. Can you post the vocal clips?

HUGE +1 to this! Anyone who's seen me post on this forum probably knows I'm an admitted AS FANBOI lol.
The 76A is just... ridiculous. I've had the Purple, UA Reissues, Vintage Rev D 1176 years ago, Mohog, Hairball, etc.
Honest to goodness, while all of the above units are GREAT (my favorites were also the Purple and Vintage unit) once I got the 76A, I knew I had finally found "the one". Not only is the price insane, but it is most assuredly the closest to the vintage 1176 I had years ago.
I've seen many people share similar sentiments... selling off their UA reissue or whatever they had in lieu of the 76A. At the current price, it's literally a steal.
Can't recommend enough... get one (when they're in stock, lol.) Chris said cases are coming next week I believe..

You Won't regret it!
I feel silly chiming in on all these AS threads, lol.... but it's only because I have most of the stuff, and have owned and used a TON of gear in the past...
Don't want to annoy anyone, that's all! =D
