I've got a midi track that I'd like to try some different sounds with. Anyone have some decent piano instruments that would want to run my midi through and shoot me an audio track? Style is slightly jazzy modern chick pop. Sara Bareilles or Ingrid Michaelson type stuff. drive.google.com/open?id=17_RpQt8wUdVeBXH6at-s9YanwkksIwiM

I have Alicias Keys in Kontact .... unfortunately I am in Europe and already home ... and working the day job all day tomorrow.
I’ll pick up this thread again on Sunday when I get to the studio, to see if I can be of any assistance.

I’ve got Keyscape and would be happy to run it through for you.
Edit: the only caveat is I have very prescribed hours that I'm available (for anything). But when I get kids down and start my studying for the night (about 9 PM PST) I can totally run it through some sounds for you and send you the files. Easy to do some prints while I study.

Give me an idea of what kind of sound you're looking for ...bright, dark, close mic-ed, etc... Pianoteq gives me dozens of options.

I made a bunch for you. They're uploading now. Something in that pile should work for you. Give it about 5 more minutes to finish.

I bounced the whole folder and forgot to delete those ghosty files that happen. The actual wav files are at the bottom.

I’be been using Waves Grand Rhapsody Piano. I’ll take a look at this in the morning.

What sample rate do you want the wavs at? jcoutu1 I just looked over on that "what sample rate are you using nowadays" thread, and it looks like jcoutu1 is using 48.

jcoutu1 : I just uploaded a couple of different options to that folder. One is Alicia's Keys, one is from a Bosendorfer sample set. Good luck, brother! Oh, one last thing: you know you've got to let us hear this song when it's done, right?

Jesse, let us all know which files you ended up using, and why. Sort of like a piano VI shootout.

Yep, 48k is correct. I expect that I'll have plenty to choose from at this point.
@theothermarkwilliams pointed out that my velocities are somewhat low and that could be why my piano isn't punching like I want it to. I'll have to look into this tonight after my 2-7 session ends.
Anyway, thanks for all the help from everyone here. I'll give another shout tonight if I think I need anything else.

Well, it seems like the other mark williams had the right idea with adjusting the velocity. This ended up getting me more where I was looking to be. I sent a mix over for approval last night. If they're not happy with the piano sounds, I'll revisit again. If anyone wants a sneak peek, DM me and I'll shoot you a link.

Sorry I didn’t get a chance to send over some samples of the Waves Grand Rhapsody. Just been a crazy couple of days. Glad you figured out the issue. I have a pianist who plays really hard, and while it sounds exciting on a real instrument it never translates with the VIs. Adjusting the velocity is a powerful tool. Some VIs can do it within the plugin too, which is nice.
