I want to try out a few purple audio products. I’ve been very curious, but have never ventured toward the purple side other than the mc77. Can you give me your experience of their product you’ve used, and what you think?

MC76 is to this day the best 1176 clone ever! The TAV and the Odd are great EQ’s TAV is an interesting take on a graphic that I think leans more towards Quad 8 than API, more life than a 560. I love the tone of the Odd, it’s got just enough color and while the EQ points are very versatile, and work more often than they should in paper It still always left me wanting more versatility. But for the price I don’t know of a better channel EQ that offers this much time.

I love Purple gear. I own a Sweet Ten and have sold tons of those MC77's to very happy customers. It's one of my favorite 1176 type boxes. Not many others out there that I like. I just don't like 1176's, but I like using the MC77. The Biz Mk is a powerhouse preamp, very thick and punchy. The MF-25 mixer system is amazing. Sounds kinda right in between a Neve and API. Totally dig it.

I'm disappointed that I haven't got more feedback on Purple Audio products. Nobody else uses them?

I enjoy my MC77’s. A bit brighter take on a 1176. I like them on snare and background vocals (add a nice air). Also have a Sweet 10 that’s been rock solid for a decade. The 500 series compressor is also really cool.
I just think they have a lot more competition now. Esthetically the look of their gear probably isn’t for everyone

I bought 4 of the BIZZ preamps back in 2004 ish? Anyway... their still working and have never missed a beat. Very exciting pre's with a robust build. Money well spent!

I'm disappointed that I haven't got more feedback on Purple Audio products. Nobody else uses them? Sad! I have a pair of TAV's that I like quite a bit. Well built and very smooth EQ I've been using on bass and assorted stringed instruments like violin. Got an empty space in the A-Designs 503 I might stick an ODD in if one comes up cheap, but I'm holding out for a 3rd Avedis E27. The TAV's were very reasonably priced used.

+1 on the TAV. Only recently purchased but I'm really liking them. I bought with the idea that they'd be great for drums (and I'm sure they are), but I tested on synths and keyboards and now that I've done that it's going to be hard to go back. You can instantly change the timbre of the sound to get it to sit exactly where you want it. So versatile because you can have very different "sounds" using only a single preset.

True, I was fixated on the MC77 which is also a clone, but more than double audioscape's The 76 was a clone, the 77 is more an example of what Andrew thought a 76 should be. Remember Andrew started as a tech who was building 76’s at the request of clients, the MC76 was the first and probably most exact 76 clone and was discontinued when the attenuator was unavailable unlike the UA which was simply redesigned without telling anyone. The metal work on my MC76’s was the thickest I have seen on any 76 clone, Andrew built those things to last forever.

Satisfied Sweet ten user. Had one that either shorted or something blew when all 10-slots were drawing power, but Andrew quickly replaced and haven't had any issues since. Been wanting to try the Moiyn for summing. Anyone had one here?
