I tried to purchase the Black Box plugin but when I put in the Halloween sale code, it didn’t work. It was still Nov. 1, 8:18 California time. In the email they sent, this is from Plugin Alliances email:
"These products are NOT included in this promotion: ADPTR AUDIO Streamliner, bx_console SSL 9000 J, AMEK EQ200, Bettermaker EQ232D, Gig Performer 3, Unfiltered Audio Bass-Mint, Shadow Hills Class A, KNIFONIUM".
The Black Box was not included, but the code wasn't allowed, aarrgghh..
Anyone have any idea why?
I sent their customer service an email... toe tapping now..

I don't know if this is it, but if you tried using the first code of HLLWN-2999 ,... it expired on Nov 30.
The 2nd code to use now is PMPKN-2999 which expires at Midnight tonight CA time I believe.
Hope that helps,
Mike

I listened to the video demos of the Neold V76U73b and the Black Box Audio plug. Eh....both left me feeling like "just another plugin". As hard as the black box demo dude tried to sell the plug, it was obviously a no contest deal. Of course, the price is 1/100th the hardware, but still.... Even though the price is killer, I think I'll pass. I may listen to the Purple 76 demo. Anything else that is really gonna blow my mind out there? At this stage of the game, all plugins are kind of starting to sound the same to me.... Most plugins just make things "slightly better" instead of "game changing" or "transformative" like hardware, eg plugin compressors. All of them. You might like the Fuse plugins more than the Neold. One of the Neold guys makes some cool plugs modeled after rare hardware. They all can solve real problems more than just being some cool color. The Fuse emulations of the TAB 376/373, Grampian 562, and RCA BCA-2C just get stuff done with one knob. The 376 adds some class A smacking power, the 373 blows stuff up, the Grampian 562 adds mids to anything that needs them, and the RCA is slight better to tube grit for anything that needs it.

They've issued one more code, good through the 3rd: SPOOKY-2999. According to the email, older codes will not work anymore.

Thanks Matt, thanks Mike. My original code was submitted on time, but there was a snag. I wrote customer survice and they mentioned the new code. After I got that new code email, I tried to purchase the Black Box but the coupon code didn't work again.
I reached the page where you click on the credit card bubble to go to the final payment page. I didn't click there because it seemed like I would be charged $249 if I did.
I sent an email to customer support, hopefully they can help.

I picked up the Neold plugin. So far, it hasn't grown on me. I have so many of PA plugins that I really didn;'t need anything else but thought for $30 it was worth a try. It got a lot of great reviews. Honestly, it hasn't done anything for me so far. Maybe I need to set aside some quality time to try it on more sources.

It got a lot of great reviews. Honestly, it hasn't done anything for me so far. Maybe I need to set aside some quality time to try it on more sources. Trim massively and use it on multiple tracks in the mix. Telefunken isn’t API or Neve either. The input/drive knob usually auto compensates the output in Ray Dratwa’s plugins but not the internal algorithm. Fuse Vpre-376 is the only one of his where the VU meter can monitor not just the input or output level but the post drive, pre output one too. The Neold one modeled from even classier hardware can’t. You have to be sure to not clip the input, output, and the algorithm just like with a Waves plug but these are even cooler. Since you are feeding the algorithm 43 to 76 dB of gain, you need to trim massively. You won’t see the “algorithm clipping“ on the output because it’s auto compensated from the inputting. The Neold trim knob is just for the output. If you think this is poor usability, the other Plugin Alliance plugs can be much worse. Lindell 80 has drive, headroom, thd, oversampling, TMT, and optional hard and soft clipping settings. Furthermore the pre, eq, and compressor each react different at different settings. You can easily make it sound broken. TMT is a bit borked and will make it sound straight up broken depending on the “channels” you select just like on the bx_consoles and Purple MC77. It’s gives you the experience of an old console with a bunch of broken channels and for the purple, old 1176s that sound tonally different and a bit too bright.

I got the Mc77. Actually really like it. It does have more of a hardware type attack - like it actually sounds like it’s working lol. I really like it.

I got Dear VR Pro with today's code. Very excited, I've been wanting something like this for a long time. You can do that spinning around outside the speakers, behind your head kind of thing, that I have always puzzled over on records. Would obviously be useful for serious video audio also, not that I do a lot of that. Need to dig in tomorrow with this new stuff.
I like Purple a lot also it's better than most 1176 plugins. Occasionally it can be a little too bright for some sources. But it's nice to have this as well as UAD and Arturia for the main picks, it's right there with them.

I always forget about them!
