ok...my 1073mpa arrived this week and I was able to record guitar and bass with it today.
I first recorded my 12 string Tele through an orange squeezer compressor into a Mesa TA15 Vox channel set with a touch of grit..,from there it hit the Stam-KT1176-KT Pultec clone....sounded perfect. I did note that compared to me BLA73, I had to crank the gain and Trim a bit higher to get a clear signal at -18db....I still had plenty of knob left..,sounded great...next was my Hamer Newport into a Lovepedal SSSRV Pedal and a Lovepedal Reverb 3SE into the BF Fender channel on the Mesa...both went into a Sennheiser 906 dynamic micing a closed back 1x12 with an EV SRO Coffee Can Alnico... both guitars were rhythm oriented and sounded great. Clear and for lack of a better word...vintagey...
Next Up was Bass direct into the di input..HOLY COW! This blew the BLA73 away as the BLA di doesn’t hit the input transformer.,,the Stam does and it sounds glorious.
I need to write some some lyrics for 3 songs I have ready so I can review the all important vocal attributes of the Stam Sa-1073mpa.
So far you can color me very happy....initially I recorded the 12 through a tweed Deluxe and Man o man it sounded good, but something happened and the 12 track simply disappeared from my DAW.
I have never ever played through a “real” Neve 73 but the Stam sounds wonderful. Every bit as good as the BLA into the mic input and far, far better di’d.
I am happy with my purchase.

Do you happen to remember which dinosaurs were still alive when first placed the order for it?

Do you happen to remember which dinosaurs were still alive when first placed the order for it? Hahaha....whichever ones they are, they are definitely an age or so younger than the ones alive when I PIF for my SA67 which is still due in someday...

Do you happen to remember which dinosaurs were still alive when first placed the order for it? I believe it was the Eoraptor at the time
