Yes unfortunately shipping is expensive as the product has to be insured against loss but we only charge what it costs us.

Hi Vincent R. We'll get some samples up soon. All the best FAB If you are interested I’d love to demo your 67, and I could make a video demo with it. You can check my YouTube channel for similar microphone comparisons and demos of the Chandler REDD and RMS 269. I’ve been looking for a good 67 for a while. www.youtube.com/c/ElegantVintageEntertainment

$2,273.20 Expensive. Who makes the capsule? "Direct replacement" could mean a lot of things.
Sound files are a must. I can't understand how mic companies, not just you, are making the mics, have the mics, test the mics, but don't make a recording they can use to sell it. It's like the first thing someone thinks when considering if they should pony up the money.

It's like the first thing someone thinks when considering if they should pony up the money. Having priced out quite a few custom builds it’s actually right on the money if the parts are premium parts and can really compete with some of the other reputable capsules and transformers. I too am curious who makes the capsule. A lot of Chinese capsules are also marketed as direct replacements. We all know how that goes. Heck, there is even a ton of debate about Nuemann’s current run of capsules.

Hi guys, the capsule is custom made by Eric Heiserman and the transformer is the FAB V12 and every component is premium quality.

Well, demo recordings are great sales tools but the problem is that they don't really tell you anything because the end listener generally has no inkling of what process might have been used to arrive at the final result and how the source(s) used for the demo were selected. There really is no substitute for trying out the gear in person, but that can be a difficult thing to arrange if the prospective buyer doesn't have an established relationship with a good dealer.

That doesn't make it not expensive if you don't what's in it to make it worth that much.

Naturally, I think anyone on this board would realize in person is best. Sound files are the next best thing, as I'm not going to be around one anytime soon and I'd guess he wants orders to ramp up production. Marketing good kit is not hard with the right tools made available.

Yes unfortunately shipping is expensive as the product has to be insured against loss but we only charge what it costs us. The mic is 1595 plus VAT shipped to Europe. There’s no way in the world that shipping to the US costs 415 € more! Talk to your accountant. You must sell VAT-less outside the EU.

He had followed up with me on my PayPal shipping insurance comment above as to me too the non European price seemed way out of whack: whose going to pay a 25% premium for shipping and insurance when PayPal includes insurance it’s 3-4% ?

We are making changes regarding the VAT to non EU countries - we made an error rightly pointed out and it should be corrected in a day or two. Our web designer is being contacted now and we are awaiting his reply. It took us almost 9 months to get the website to it's launch state and I'm sure there will be other teething troubles along the way.

Do you use PayPal as within its 3-4% fee insurance for full replacement value including shipping is included ? I'm 99% sure PayPal doesn't provide shipping insurance when using their service. You need to purchase your own shipping insurance through the carrier.

You need to purchase your own shipping insurance through the carrier. They do say shipping damages are covered under buyer protection but no explanation of coverage, deductible or what you have to do to be covered so I would still use a well explained coverage.
