Maybe it's because I'm focusing on demo'ing some reverbs...but....you know what I really miss? Hitting stop, and having the FX continue. When they're plug ins, and you hit stop on the playback, you immediately get silence rather than the "aaAAAhhhhh" of the reverb and delay tails.
There's nothing terribly useful about it, other than knowing immediately if a delay line got wonky in it's timing...I just miss that for 25 years or now more...it was that way...and now I hit stop and it's utter silence.
Soon, there will be a generation who doesn't even know that sound/effect.

Is it a Cubase thing? I’m on PT.

I use Cubase and I hear reverb and delay trails after hitting stop. What daw are you on? Is it a preference setting?

Soon, there will be a generation who doesn't even know that sound/effect. Haha! I don't think so. I'm with Ragan. And all the kids I know are experiencing it with their DAW's (PT's) Switch to PT and feel like you're running a traditional studio again - or figure out your routing maybe? Actually, I had to think hard to know what you were talking about. Been listening to tails ring out for ever since I started recording on a Tascam 4 track and 6 track mixer - on up thru PT HDX2. And loving it. I wouldn't know what to do if everything went to silence when I hit stop. I'd probably start developing a nervous tic or something....

Yeah Im with everyone else. My EFX stuff always continues on after hitting stop. Also a PT user. Doesn't matter if its a direct insert or a send to a bus with an insert or if its hardware or software.

I get tails with Reaper.
It's apparently an option in the Reaper preferences. You might have it buried in your preferences somewhere, too.

Pro Tools produces lovely tails. also known as reverb trails (like contrails only less chemical, LOL)
They are essential to hearing what you are getting and extremely useful for determining how much 'cloud' your verb is contributing to your mix.

Happy trails!
My old Alesis Wedge reverb (I miss that box) had a special green button that would spit a single cycle transient into the reverb, so you could just hear the tails, was great.

Are you using the Reverb plugs on an aux track and sending to it (like you would on a console)? I’m on PT and get tails too.

With Logic you actually have to be careful about NOT bouncing with effect tails. I learned this the hard way after spending 10 or 15 minutes trying to figure out why one of my mixes kept rendering 10 or 15 seconds too long.

I don’t Know some of those PT coders and I do not want to know the chemicals they use😜

I’m pretty sure some/ all(?) old DAWs like early versions of Sonar and others used to make the tails an option in order to save on CPU processing. Dropout was always an issue back in the day, I remember when I found the option in Cakewalk I felt like I must be some kind of freak because I wanted tails.

Got tails in Logic. It’s strange to me that MixBus doesn’t have this. I frequently need to check the tail of a reverb or delay by stopping the playhead.
