Sorry John Boy, (notice the caps) I didn't mean to single you out, and you really could have been anybody; I was just curious as I am going through hardware preamps and have Unison and love UA's compressors. EQ however, I am thinking caveat emptor except I already have their plugs and again was just being really curious by asking the question. I came to this place like this week or something for the sole reason for the exchange of information and a no reply and a no response to a newcomer with his first question is just not being cowboy, and not really smart if you are trying to grow some kind of a business. Is it not in your forum rules somewhere? You do have moderators don't you? Rhetorical questions and no need to respond, again. Plonk me, you have real power here and I won't mind a bit. I love you too! No one has any idea what you're talking about.

Wtf is this guy talking about? You didint get a response from me for one day and you’re being a dick about it? I’m about to “plonk” you so you don’t have to worry about it. JK, why you disrespecting me like that? hehe... I'm kidding. Don't plonk me. I like it here even though this place encourages me to spend money like I got thousand dollar bills stuffed in a wooden leg.

You can get 500 chassis for 19 inch racks and the better ones have better power supplies, internal routing/link and output options.

Maybe hio got into the plonk. He’s up on the ua forum, seems ok, not certain what’s up with his post above though

John, et al, I am so sorry. Not to get into it and all but I have been pulling all nighters for too many days/nights because I am busier than I have ever been in my life but I am not on drugs unless you consider caffeine a drug but sleep deprivation = subtractive IQ let me tell you. Your your site pulled me in with all the gear talk and I have had immediate needs big time and needed stuff like yesterday. I should have just filled out your form as my findings are that you know gear really well. I have been in the business for more decades than i care to admit but I am always learning something and I guess I was looking for a helping hand for a fee of course. You know like can you possibly get me this tomorrow kind of thing cuz I know you are connected, and if of course you were not too busy with your other work.
Instead I tried to segue-way into a conversation to get to know you better with my question to see how you were working and I blew it. When I checked back over a day later and you had been conversing about other stuff, I felt slighted that you hadn’t answered my simple question one way or the other.
Again, my sincere apologies and I will fill out the form next time and maybe have a friendly chat someday if you are not too busy.
P.S. The caps thing, ha, I was pissed cuz I couldn’t use my pseudonym with all caps when I joined your forum. I am HIO in all caps because it is my acronym Here In Oregon where I reside but I have lived all over the world. You on the other hand get to wear a cap and rightfully so because this is your place and I fergot (sic) that. Sorry, and much obliged for your time on these issues. I will get more sleep and promise to behave going forward. You see where I grew up you got into a fight before becoming friends.
Kind of kidding!

Er...ok. You don’t have to fill out a form for questions to be answered. You ever think I just didn’t see it?

HIO, John's got a serious career as a songwriter/producer, has a family, a business selling pro audio gear, and then this forum. It's a place for musicians, engineers and producers to mingle and help each other. Very little vitriol or animosity is tolerated for long. It's not Gearslutz, and John has one simple rule, don't be an ass.
You seem under the impression that John is somehow obligated to answer any direct question promptly. Like any member here, he answers as quickly as he's able. John typically gets back to people rather quickly, but he's not like some guy you call at Sweetwater who has to answer any question a customer has. I find it odd that you expected a personal answer from the proprietor of a forum. He's just a cat like all of us, doing as much as he can to stay alive and well in today's music business.
We all have a few threads we keep track of, he's got ALL the posts to keep an eye on. Even with some moderators, that's a heavy load. Chill out man and enjoy the forum, it's a special place once you get to know the regulars.

Hio, what gear are you looking for, maybe start a new thread so we can all give you endless opinions about gear choices: we are really good at that !

As far as mods - really, I’m pretty much it. And I try not to moderate much of anything. That’s one thing that made me dislike GS.

Johnkenn,
I have asked only one small question on your forum ever and it was..... “John, may I ask what *UA* EQ you might use on your way in and I assume that the Pre you referred to doesn't have EQ? If it is a trademark secret I understand.”
and it was in reply to your post, snip/.....
“I’m actually tracking with an outboard pre, line-in and using the UAD compressors/EQ on the way in.”
and your *best* reply has been.....
“I use a CAPI VP28 platinum and think I used the gray LA2A. You good?”
John, I never asked what preamp or compressor you used, I asked what *EQ* you might have used?
Capiche, comprende mi amigo.
If there is any confusion please see my original question to your commentary or don’t and I will understand.
Have a nice day/night John, everyone.

I don’t use an EQ on the way in. I usually shape in the daw with Fabfilter, Sound Radix Surfer EQ and or Oxford Dynamic EQ.

I think I just said comp/EQ out of habit. As far as EQ, I’m just of the mindset of “why commit when you don’t have to?”

What is even funnier, I was buying gear from them at the same time you wrote that. For a guy who has “immediate needs big time and needed stuff like yesterday”, buying from Stam is an odd choice. Stam gear is great and affordable, but you will be waiting quite a while for it.

No worries. By this past September, everything will be in stock and will ship within two days of ordering.

Stam gear is great and affordable, but you will be waiting quite a while for it. Not every piece of gear I need yesterday but I know about Stam. I ordered gear that was in stock which was like 2 out of 11 pieces of gear they sell and I paid the full amount. We will see now won't we.

An audio engineering buddy of mine came over to check out the Apollo I have. We were going through the Console 2.0 because he is in the market for an interface and I was walking him through the Apollo workflow. We were going through the plugs and demoing amp sims. He really liked some of everything he heard(except for some amp sims)and then he asked me if he could control Console 2.0 from an iPad app because he does a lot of live work. I told him that I don’t think they have an app. He said he just don’t know now because of the ease of having an app to control the interface and Console is something he wants. So my question is, is UA ever going to come out with an app to control Console 2.0 and the Apollo’s from the IPad?

I was beggin’ for it years ago when I was on an Apollo.

I thought somebody here on RGO had figured out a way to run Console on an Ipad/tablet a while back?
