I'm about to order a pair of new KK84 capsules from Neumann, and thought I might as well order two new badges while I am at it. Has anyone changed the badge on a KM84? How do you remove the old one/install the new one? Is it easy or difficult? I don't want to rip the old ones off if it might damage the bodies etc. I found Klaus Heynes' info on Neumann badge changing on another forum, but it only told you how to put the new ones on, not take the old ones off.

Any reason you’re changing the badges? Are they in rough shape/broken?
Wanna maybe sell me your old ones if they’re not snapped or whatever?

Yeah, my KM84s are from 1977, both badges are fine although a little beat up. Just thought shiny new ones would look better! They are not that expensive. One currently is a little loose, the other is stuck fast. I have no idea how they are attached, or how easy it would be to remove the old ones.
Sure, will probably sell the old KK84s and badges once the new ones are installed and approved!

At least with my KM100 bodies, just snapping them into the stiff Neumann clip at the wrong angle would make them fly off. There are two drilled holes in the body and two matching posts (I think) and they are glued/cemented.

Thanks, one of mine is loose, so must just be held in by the pins? The other feels very secure. How to remove, or best just to leave as is?

It may be different with those, I can't say.
