I am doing some online session guitar, and it needs to have real time interaction between me and the producer. He needs to hear what I am doing, then tell me what to change.
I run logic, don’t know what they use yet......
The only thing I can think of, is FaceTime, Skype,Facebook and have my iPad or iPhone on a stand and the sound out of my monitors being picked up by the iPad microphone....?
I suppose next step is a class compliant Audio interface connects to the iPad....
or or some sort of mixer taking a feed out of logic, and a mic I can talk into feeding the ipad
anyone doing this stuff atm?
cheers
Wiz

Thank you for that. I think it’s going to be way to expensive for this type of work thanks though cheers Wiz

You could download the dante virtual soundcard, set Logic as the input and set the output of Dante as the source for a Skype session. You'll just need a talkback mic set up in your logic session so the producer can hear you talk to him. www.audinate.com/products/software/dante-virtual-soundcard

I'm doing a lot of remote ( online ) session at my drums studio, that will not help you i think. I never set a video as i track and record for a client or Prod company. They send me the files, i record them and send them back the tracks, but i response fast at there mail or phone call, in about 2 hours the review track , if there is ,are done. They know what i can do before so there are no surprise i guess.

Is this an experienced producer? You'd think they'd have a workflow in mind.
I do "tape syncs" a fair amount for my advertising client, but not for music. Basically I'm just listening to the talent talk over the phone and my local recordist is capturing audio.
Absent more budget, I'd just go with the phone, it will have fewer annoying artifacts than Skype.
