Barry invented Music 11, which became CSound, but to my knowledge had nothing to do with the Synclavier. Jon Appleton with Cameron Jones and Sydney Alonso invented the Dartmouth Digital Synthesizer, which then became the Synclavier. I know as I took an advanced Electro-Acoustic composition class with Jon Appleton back in the 80s when Dartmouth had a full blown Synclavier system - and a Moog modular sitting unused and gathering cobwebs.
