I agree with a lot of what you're saying - this stripped down version has about 90% of what I use with my X-Touch. Adding thoughts.. Additional Pro: The XT faders are just too noisy, especially when a bank of them move all at once. This is easily my #1 complaint about the device. The XT1 with just one fader basically eliminates that because the track you are recording on will ostensibly have no automation on it. Con #1: I have my XT on a rolling cart and use it for remotely controlling Logic so that I can easily disarm a track I've just recorded on and arm an adjacent track using the channel strip buttons on each track without leaving the instrument. I see a single set of those buttons on the XT1, so it looks like it can be done but it would entail a few extra key strokes, and I feel that because you can't see what's armed and disarmed at a glance, you're more likely to make an error. Con #2: For similar design reasons you can't A/B tracks by hitting two or even more Mute or Solo buttons simultaneously. I do that a lot. I could see having the XT1 as a dedicated remote because of its small size, but Con #1 comes into play I could see having the XT1 at my desk because of its small size, but Con #2 applies there. I'm also in a place where I'm currently hesitant to buy Behringer products because of their bullying lawsuit tactics.

I'm also in a place where I'm currently hesitant to buy Behringer products because of their bullying lawsuit tactics. After someone posted a link in another thread to an article where Behringer was suing a company for calling them out on their obvious aesthetic copying of another product, I looked into their legal conflicts a bit and this is not a company to whom I want to give my money.

Funny timing. I’d been using the X-Touch with 8 faders for a couple months, realized I didn’t need more than 1 fader, and ended up sending it back and replacing it with a Faderport. The old faderport’s buttons take some He-man strength to depress which is a dealbreaker for me. I liked everything else about the big Behringer other than the footprint. My personal feelings about the company’s ethical behavior aside, the benefits might outweigh the cons here. Could always put a sticker on top of the logo.

Hey M57 you are right about A/B, I also do that a lot. I also like to use the Save button. I guess a two fader version would be the killer one

Hey M57 you are right about A/B, I also do that a lot. I also like to use the Save button. I guess a two fader version would be the killer one Now that I think of it, I use most of the Utility buttons. Save and Undo get hit a lot, and Enter is huge for closing OK/Warning pop-up windows. If they could be assigned to the function buttons, that would go a long way, but I think I tried assigning Enter to a function button at one time on my XT (not realizing the button was right there on the transport) and I couldn't do it.
