Any body experience the start up bug with HS, where it loads 100% but hangs and never actually opens up ? Apple support found my lost file yesterday; yea, but now I can't boot up my machine: boo I have read that a fresh install of the OS without wiping your files should fix this hang issue but I was wondering if any one had any insights ? Thx.

Turned out my problem was practically filling up the drive. I ended up getting a new 500 gig ssd for my boot drive and putting my 240 gig ssd in the caddy.
Doing fresh install of high Sierra and logic.
I had double saved all my logic folders after using the project management functions to delete unneeded files and to consolidate all files. This reduced the size of all sessions.
I have a last apple support call planned for Monday, curious to see if I can keep one drive just for music.

I use my 500 G Glyph drive as music only storage. I save current projects in Logic too. When a big project is finished, I put that on a completely different drive and store it in my closet. Then I can clear my Glyph drive and Logic backup if I want to. The safety copy drive I keep in my closet was only around $80. I think they're even less expensive now. I think of them the same way I used to store 24 tk. master tapes, only it's a lot smaller !
I also have Apple's Time Machine, which can restore me to yesterday's files in an emergency.

I heard that a lot, if your HD is fill up at about 70% and more you can get all sort of problem.!!!!
And yes Time Machine for MAC work great to get back some of your files.

I have a 2012 map i7, 16 gig of ram and 2 ssd: 500 gig and 240 gig both pretty fast and I have external drives. It was really my mistake for loading up the original drive too high.

I use a Mac app called ChronoSync; it copies any file changes on my PT data 1 TB SSD off to a 4TB raid array every morning at 4am. It will also do cloud storage but I'd want a 1 gig Internet pipe for that. My local ISP Cox now offers 1 gig service, so that's next on the upgrade list. Onward and upward!
And I just looked at my system HD and it's almost full! Time to take out the trash!
