If I highlight a song segment say chorus and have the drum editor open, I can change parameters just for that section, then do same for verse etc..
After Unhighlighting and then playing entire song, I hear the edited parts as I want but don’t see the settings unless I highlight a specific playlist again.
So, that’s the way you can arrange the drummer part by song section ?
Seems to be working fine.

Yes, you edit by sections. Command+T Splits the sections--which you need to do because it will always fill at a section split (unless you've specified no fills in that section).
The whole "select the track and the DAW highlights everything in the track" is an absolutely stupid Logic'ism. I've never understood what the example is where this is helpful. Cubase, you select a track it doesn't change the selection in the arrange window....you CAN right click a track and "select all events"....I do that on occasion--love that option, but as a default option for simply navigating the arrange page, I find it weird. Especially given that it ALSO enables the input monitoring for whatever your touch, record enables it....and puts everything it touches in one core. I noticed somewhere around 10.3 they put a light delay into it, so it wasn't overloading the CPU constantly switching as you click around in the arrange window.
I really find their project navigation maddening in so many ways.

The whole "select the track and the DAW highlights everything in the track" is an absolutely stupid Logic'ism. so turn that option off: uncheck "Select regions on track selection"

Other than navigating in and getting logic to do what I want, editing section by section and changing say the cymbal pattern in the chorus or splitting my verse in two so the latter section leads more dynamically into the next section makes the drumming sound realer !

The whole "select the track and the DAW highlights everything in the track".. I find it helpful when editing Midi in the Piano editor. If it ain't highlighted on the track, it doesn't show up in the editor - so selecting the track guarantees that you see everything. Now that I think of it ..also for pitch and time correction I'm pretty sure.

Sweet, thx chuck! The one I went looking for is the more destructive “record enable anything selected”—but there I can at least stop it from record enabling something I touch a region for...
I guess I see that m57. I do appreciate knowing there’s at least some benefit somewhere!
