I use Fabfilter pro MB and quite happy with the results, just wondering if anyone uses the Waves F6, compared the two, cpu usage, etc. I imagine the Fabfilter will be a better option for heavier duties, but just to tame spikey freqs. on vocals, guitars, etc. Lately Im reaching more for the Fab MB and using only one or 2 bands instead of piling on comps.

Kind’ve hoping FF comes with a version 2 of the MB. Be cool to have a few more features.

I use F6 on every mix. It's the first plugin in my vocal chain. I use it for the HPF and controlling harsh frequencies dynamically. I have a couple filters in the 2-3k range set to reduce those frequencies when things get a little out of hand with a harsh voice. I think it works great. I have not used it to boost anything but for what I need, it's just great. I used to just cut 2.5 or 3k from some voices, but when they start singing lower, I lose something. Controlling it dynamically really has worked great. F6 and MV2 are my most used waves plugins.

I've been using TDR Nova dynamic EQ, but I'll have to check out the Waves! I keep hearing about Waves and they've been around for so long.

In all honesty, the free Tokyo dawn version is really great.

The feature set looks great, hopefully its less cpu drain than Fab MB. Im gonna buy it without demoing. I no longer demo any Waves. Ive never had a tattoo removed, but I think it would be a less painful process than removing Waves demo’s. Looks like Waves has a buy 3 get one free sale thru Memorial day. So, 4 $29 plugins total approx. $19 each. Im thinking F6, 160, L2 and Trans X. Or, just grab the F6.. hmm.

I just saw the arc of the impulse purchase as it ramps up from comparison, jumps to the bundle price of joy, then dies off to reasoning back to the original purchase. All in 8 sentences! haha

Ended up going with the F6 and the little Ive used it I really like the workflow and results. Curious how it will compare to Fab MB when I have time for a comparision. It has HP & LP filters, so to compare I would need to use an additional plug-in.

In all honesty, the free Tokyo dawn version is really great. I liked and used Nova (free) for quite a while. I find the CPU hit of F6 to be much lower so I started using that much more often. Nova is a great plugin though.

Sorry for the late reply. I don't have any of the Fab plugins. I've been tempted, but I already have so many that I just couldn't justify the purchase.
