Laurel, clear as day. Some people hear something else? This is like that Blue/gold/whatever dress thing.

Laurel, but listening continuously I did hear yanny in the overtones a few times.

Yeah. I can hear the overtones although it’s not a clear yanny...but at regular pitch I hear Laurel. Lower it and I hear Yanny.
So, for all the people that receive my mixes, this explains why they say Laurel somewhere in them.

Holy shit.
I just listened on my earbuds at work and it's clearly YANNY now, even at normal speed. I listen on my phone and it's clearly LAUREL.
If I concentrate I can hear either one. This is cool.
The YANNY I hear is higher pitched than the LAUREL I hear. Gotta be an overtone thing generated by the audio compression.

I was in...ahem...another room and heard a show on tv that was playing this. Heard Yanny clear as day.

Or maybe I should only mix for Laurels?
I should make RGO t-shirts that say "Team Laurel"

Yanni is digging the free publicity. Me, I hear TV idiots gussing over their damaged hearing.

Clearly "Laurel" ...
& then "Hardy".
Seriously only Laurel. The sped down, could be "Yeahly"

I hear Yanny (well, actually Yammy) on all of the ones shifted down and “Laurel” on all the ones shifted up! Equally freaky have you seen the McGuirk effect? Me too. I could only hear Laurel on regular speed. Couldn’t hear Yammy. But the ones that are shifted down, it’s Yammy to me.

Laurel, quite clearly. On the shifted ones I only heard Yanni on the lowest - which is good, because I don't want to hear Yanni. On the next to lowest I heard a mismash of the two, neither clearly.

So, what does this mean in terms of our hearing? Is it a good thing to hear Laurel? Or am I screwed because I can only hear Laurel?

I heard Laurel every time until I heard those pitched ones. The two lower ones sound like Yammy to me.
