anyone know of anyone in nashville that has a hakko and is capable of desoldering 4 resistors? made a mistake and need to swap them but don't really feel like spending several hundred for the hakko and doing it myself. willing to pay someone to do it!
thanks.

Why Hakko? Low end Hakko are trash.
Just buy a used Metcal. Way better irons for your money.

if they are just resisters why not just cut them out and replace them yourself ?

if they are just resisters why not just cut them out and replace them yourself ? i guess i figured it would be best to get the pads nice and clean before resoldering. but if that works, maybe that would be the best way!

Acetone will work too, and better than alcohol.

Cut the leads and use some Chip-Quik rework solder to lift them out with needle nose pliers. That solder melts at very low temps so you have less risk damaging a plated hole. Then a solder suck tool will clean the holes out.
