It seems TC is bringing back the 2290 Delay as a plugin with a hardware remote.. TC 2290-DT
What do you guys think about this? it's priced at $350.

I own 3 of the original 2290's. I believe they are the greatest delays ever created! When mixing with my console from Radar they are used every mix.
I might have to purchase this for those times I'm mixing with the computer and not the console.

Trying to find nice ones is getting harder and harder!

I don't really get the need for the remote or that some functions are only available with the remote.. maybe it's against piracy or something.. nobtwiddler What do you mainly use the 2290 for? Thanks!

Dang. Looks cool. Bet its still nothing like the original.
I still want a couple PCM42s so damn bad but my god the price is crazy for a mono delay. But they sound so freaking good.

Love the controller idea. Wish they'd done the same thing with their reverb.

Dror, One of the units is always on the lead vocal channel, for either chorusing, doubling, and or just delay of some sort. #2 - Is usually placed on the lead guitar channel for width, and left, right, panned delays. #3 - Is the floater, that can either be on BK Vox, Keys, or on occasion, a rhythm guitar part.
The ability, to duck the delay so It doesn't get in the way of the original part, is worth the price of admission alone?

That’s the thing about the 2290 you could devote a year to just playing with it and the manual walk in to somebody else’s session and learn something new. It’s from the days when stuff was designed buy guys who use gear rather than sell gear ( says the retired gear pimp)!

I always wondered why UAD didn't do dedicated hardware controllers like this. The price is great and the demos sound killer. I don't know if I can resist. I hope other companies take notice of this idea... copy protection and a killer control feature in one. I would love one for the echoplex, moog multimode, lexicon, etc...

This seems so great, should have been done by Dangerois Music as it’s dangerous to my wallet!
