He HAS been busy. I wonder what sonic characteristics it has compared to the usual suspects.

He HAS been busy. I wonder what sonic characteristics it has compared to the usual suspects. I've never used any Flickinger gear, but it has a reputation for having a sound of its own despite being somewhat (I read somewhere) related to the Spectra Sonics op amp.

Man I've been looking for a 535 schematic for a while. Anyone know where I could find it?

Over on group diy might have one. According to posts there the flick opamp is the bringer of the flick sound.

Kinda cool...but honestly I'm still waiting on those Redd51 modules aka redbacks...he teased pictures of those on social media and I've inquired a couple time about them and nada......need more tube pre options in 500 series and that one was looking the most promising sigh

I have an original Spectra Sonics 610 and love the way it sounds....

I wish someone with more spare time than I would do some standard opamp tests on those things. Stuff like open-loop gain, bode plots, PSRR, CMRR, etc. Somehow subjective claims just don't do it for me.

The two types of observations should go hand in hand, so you at least know what you are ignoring.

Simple noise tests would be easy to do and would be very informative. Everyone has different acceptable subjective opamp error rates but no one I've met ever liked noise.

Fair enough but which subjective claims did you mean. Is there something online I've not read. I cant find any claims about the jlm opamp.

By 'error rates', he means the sound of the amp; those are the things that contribute to any amp having a 'sound'. So....acceptable or desirable sound.
