Well I just finished my HB rev D... But isn't that already in this shootout? I believe I read comments about it sounding a bit pumpy. Ur a DIY machine Paul!! Well, what do U think? Pumpy or??? What's ur take on it?

Used the Splice again for a vocal today... rev A kills!! Not a complaint but noticing it is really "forward" sounding...more so than a Urei... I'll use to my advantage when I wanna bring things up front. Appreciate your splice impressions & hello to you good folks. The splice2 in atop my list lately. If I could just get past it's funky look …& my attention being grabbed by the intriguing Schmidlin fed+. Whole other tool of course.

I've got a purple action I can run the original through if needed. not in the studio till this Friday. if you want me to can you let me know which original file to use. this will be interesting because I find the action difficult to use.

I had the action comp and also found it difficult to use. I ran a comparison file but never posted bc I didn't think it was a true contender to other 1176 comps. At best, it's a FET comp and that's about as close as it gets to me.

I love the splice look and sound, but I'm biased. Haha
Littlesicily, the rev a is killer.

It's been a while but I do recall it being grabby, very finicky to set and few markings on the faceplate to know the settings. I'm often in situations where I need to dial up sounds quickly and the action was just too much of a PITA to work with. Can't remember the low end issue.

Hello, here is the Mohog MoFET76 we.tl/u2EJXt38sLif you want to add it to the dropbox, I did the test (following the instructions) with both transformers Edcor and Carnhill, each with output level matched to the other files. Converter was Apogee Ensemble

Okay folks, my ProReplicas Rev. D has arrived and she's a beauty. I asked Robert to use original Urei/UA transformers instead of the Anderson replicas. Here's my part of the shootout. I used Logic and tried to match the settings that were originally specified, i.e. Attack 1, Release 7, Ratio 4:1, max gain reduction around -15 at the word 'god'. Converters were my Apogee Rosettas. Now, my file is way beyond the 3mb limit for attachments, it's 6mb for the 24-bit and 4mb for the 16-bit version, how do you guys get it to less than 3mb? Meanwhile, here's my unit:
