having a blast with these two boxes so far. Who else is using these? I'll have more impressions soon, (and want to try their other stuff in a bit) but so far Im super impressed by these designs. The VTRC has both Vari Mu tube limiter as well as Optical circuits that can be used at the same time, or either/or. The Creme is surprisingly good sounding on the mix bus. Very Silky open type of vibe, but tone is more transparent/opaque. Does some "effects" if you want to smash it, but a great glue machine that helps balance you out. The EQ on both units are real sweet and pristine sounding.

So after a few more days with the Creme bus comp, i can confidently say, its a great piece of gear in every way. Its $1899, not bad at all for what you can get out of it. its pretty big sounding, to my delight. Its full, wide and large. Broad shoulders. It has a silky, furtustic SSL snappy feel to it. But leans more towards glue and evenness. The low/high center boosts are very useful. Found myself adding a bit of 16kHz air and 100Hz bottom, after the comp. I really like how you can switch the order of that, but I find myself always in COMP-EQ mode.

I can see the COMP-EQ mode being pretty much SOP, but the option of the reverse order could offer some very cool problem solving capabilities and dramatic effects!

yea, it will sound more smashed when boosting into it. sometimes, you want to "activate" the compressor to react more Im guessing, 95% of my time would be spent in COMP-EQ mode. Kinda the same with the VTRC, which has slightly more expanded EQ

also, quickly slapped the Creme on a solitary acoustic guitar part and thought it really sounded perfect. Takes away pointyness but seems very "sprite" and "bouncy", or perhaps you could say energetic, for lack of more proper words.

I just found the 5% on a vocal, goosing the low end into the compressor sounds pretty magical

Why is it that when I see "Tegeler Creme" I think of Swiss chocolates?

Some Tegeler gear is super attractive (givem it could be on par with Tube-Tech`s!), I think you dug it perfectly by choosing the Creme...

^Thats exactly how I would describe EQ-COMP mode on the VTRC, when boosting 300, cutting 300, adding 4k, while only using the optical limiter,

I thought something way more pornographic ?😁 Whay could be more pornographic than Swiss chocolate? It's all Swiss chocolate where I live just outside of Basel. Growing up in New York and living 75% of my life in the States, I never enjoyed the taste of chocolate, Hershey Bars and Kisses the majority of what was offered as examples my mouth and taste buds rejected as a non-food. Nowadays, every day is an orgasmic and yummy chocolate adventure. And yea, also gotta love that Tegeler Creme!

Our Girardelli chocolate is quite good.

Our Girardelli chocolate is quite good. Well, it might be pretty good because...The Ghirardelli Chocolate Company is a United States division of Swiss confectioner Lindt & Sprüngli. The cocoa bean doesn't fall far from the tree.
