Has landed, nice solid feel not plasticky at all. Fired right up and installed new drivers, configured for logic and running first session in under 5 minutes. So far,so good ! Attachments:

Awesome!
Glad it worked right away!
If you're not posting videos of the faders moving up and down within the next few days then YOU'RE NOT EVEN A REAL GUY IN A STUDIO!!!!!!

One week in I had the fp1 and 8 so knew abut the basic features and that I would like again the basic functionality: transport control, jumping round the session with markers etc. I do like the feel of the unit as well, the soft buttons all feel substantial not cheap Thought I would mention specific things that seem knew to me ? For example even in Logic when I select a FP channel (depress select button), it lights green as unusual but I notice that the corresponding fader/channel and its region in logic also both light up. I don't recall this happening in logic before with the fp8 but that it was a feature in Studio one (S1). This is handy to have the fp and daw channel aligned as you do things and having this happen automatically: will quickly become ingrained in your workflow. But perhaps spilling a glass of red wine all over the fp16 on its one week anniversary, is not to be recommended ? ahgggg, so powered it down, opened it up real quick , cleaned it all out, paper towel , hair dryer, compressed air and cleaned the hell out of it with isopro. Working fine now, but I will buy some of the deoxit brand fader cleaner as soon as the local store opens and use that too. Cat5 reminded me that the wine will leave sugar residue so you want to get rid of all that: whew !!

I had the faderport 16 in a cart with a 15% coupon applied and paypal'd clear and my adult alarm distracted me and I chickened out. I want this piece so bad. I've missed faders.

forgotteg its honestly a pretty good unit, well designed and well executed
cost is one thing but I think you would pick up some efficiencies with the fp16 as well and time is money ?
The faders have a pretty fine feel and can be adjusted in .1 db increments easily, there is a hair of lag, compared to my delta, but I don't think its problematic .

But perhaps spilling a glass of red wine all over the fp16 on its one week anniversary, is not to be recommended ? That's precisely the reason I prefer a big, but soft Bordeaux in the studio. Ya never know, you might like how it.. Oh wait ..it's just a controller.

Well I pulled the trigger this morning. I sold one of my Daking 500 Pre's to soften the blow and my friends at Sweetwater took care of me. Here we go.

The fp8 has all the same features and is less, you would just use the bank function more to jump banks of 8 rather than 16.

Well I got my faderport 16 today and got to play around a bit. Needless to say I'm pretty happy with it. It's built solid and it's blowing my mind how I can streamline my workflow with it. It will take a little while to correct my workflow for mixing but I actually think this will be good and force me to organize my sessions better. I love it.

Cool. The first level functions are very useful but it also has the shift second level so is deeper than you first realize.
Enjoy!
