After the move and the unpacking I have been living with the Kids Beats and all I can say is they want how much for these? I swear a pair of $10 Targets are the exact same thing! Well I found one of my 3 pairs of Grado SR60's and let's just say music doesn't hurt, now if I could just find the STAX insomnia wouldn't be all that bad!

Horrid stuff. I went into a store about five years ago and just out of curiosity put on my head a costly Beats model and was instantly confused. They sounded so bad for 300 buck cabs that I grabbed a salesman, a 40-ish year old fellow and asked for a different pair as I felt that they were defective. He thought so too, so brought out a new box...same thing. Hmmm....Enjoy the Grados!

Funny, Eric, keep digging, you'll find it...eventually! Haha
I have a few pairs of Grado RS-1's and don't really enjoy them at all. Although I DO find them very useful for editing, and or critical listening while mastering for any extraneous noises.
But I love my Sennheiser HD600, 650's!

Yeah I have to head over to storage today, as I have said before more and more of my work is esoteric soloist and acoustic stuff where the talent likes the GRADOS or if I really Likey the STAX. As a former Endorser I do love the sound of the Senn, BUT my totally fucked up right outer ear not only sits funny in them and Beyer's if anybody else uses them I end up with an outer ear infection 😪

I really enjoy the Grado sound but they are just unbearable to wear for more than 10 mins at a time. It must be how they sit on my ears but I can’t get over it.

Since they sit almost perfectly on my totally fucked up outer ear ( my reconciliation guy talked me out of trying to repair it when his first sentence was " Ears are Funny" followed by "well we would need a flap from your forehead attached to the ear for 3 months first, same reason the nose still looks like this and in both cases I can't remember where they would have taken the cartlidge but it wasn't fun anyway I totally get that!

Hey guys, there are replacement (after market) foam pads for the Grados, that make them at least 75% more comfortable. Grado also used to make a bigger more comfy pair I think as a alternative to the stock ones.
Anyhow, I bought a pair, "much more betterer" ! Haha

Haha I think I have those on all mine, I needed a new pair and the local guy wanted as much as the 3 or 4 I bought! They also take disinfectant much better, I complained to Joe's son years ago about how I couldn't find a good way to disinfect the stock pads ( hey I have weird issues I am no clean freak) ! You know Joe was originally a watch maker & Operatic singer! The funny thing is he is most well known for his moving iron phono cartridges but holds the original pattens for the moving coil cartridge, God I must be getting old I'm starting to go off on an audio tangent like my old boss Jonathan Lipp! Oh well that's the source of a good mount of these tangents might as well continue the tradition!

I put the ("G" Series?) cushions on my 225's -- Comfort level up to about 9.6 (+/- 0.1). Had the same issue with the ("L" Series? - the smaller ones...) with damn near "pain" after wearing them for awhile. No such issue with the G series. Total game-changer.

i have the PS 500s and for me they are more natural than most alternatives; the newer version of this model (es) is even better with a more correct upper bass. As to the comfort ; yeah those foam pads are shit; if they didn't sound so good i'd be outta there. The larger more comfortable pads actually change the sound too much to my ears.
Cheers, Ross

Not the same thing at all. The Targets don't say "Beats" on them! I have an old set of Pioneer electrostacics I'd like to get working but lack an appropriate amp at the moment...
