A buddy at ua forum, Dan , who runs his own studio and teaches a recording course at college has gotten very deep into Michael Brauers’s multiple compresser approach on sub group busses.
Here is some stuff copied over from a ua forum thread:

@clazar It is fantastic that we now have a UAD Distressor for our B busses. But yeah, I was way too emotionally distraught that UA didn't model the brit mod So I a have been experimenting with an 1176A in all buttons after the Distressor, but no needle movement, just to give that extra crunch.
As for the B-Bus Distressor's attack and the MWTM video, are you sure that rack N1 part 2 is not his vocal Distressor? I would personally not want an attack of 3 across my whole drum bus, but it makes a lot of sense for vocals.
My research and understand is that MB does not route the vocals to the main outs and indeed only uses the sends in post fader to go to one or several compressors and returns them to faders on the desk, so they are not in parallel. The whole goal here is to be mixing INTO the compressors for the desired tone and movement.
As for the Fairchild 666, this is just to have another Vari-Mu seasoning to push the vocals into and see what vibe comes back out, I use a 660 for this.
Set up 5 (or whatever) unique character compressors with different (opposing) tone and vibe of varying compressor technologies.
At the audio college where I teach, I now have a specialized masterclass on Brauerizing, see the picture above for my outline of the workflow and compressor technology choices (NB: My explanation of the parallel 1176s is based on Scheps' Rear Bus):
