Im interested to try the dolby plugin, anybody? They pop up by many devel. I still try to warp my head around what its good for? I use the real thing as an insert on my bgv stereo channels. They do a thing where they almost compress and brighten the shit out of anything you put through it. I don’t think anything else does what they do. Really cool boxes that not a ton of people seem to know about. I think it’s an old school trick that got a bit lost along the way. It was shown to me years and years ago by Jason Corsaro.

Also - they are sitting there in the rack, I can just patch them in and they work and sit really well. I could use the Conpressors and eq on the console, or any other piece of outboard, but it doesn’t do the same thing.

I could use the Conpressors and eq on the console, or any other piece of outboard, but it doesn’t do the same thing. Yeah - kind of does a counterintuitive thing that just works sometimes. I haven’t sprung for it yet, but it can do really cool things with acoustics in a dense mix. The mix knob is worth the $39.
