I had noticed this, but wasn't sure where I'd use it. I use Superior Drummer, and have a dozen compressor plug-ins.

Wow, what a deal, thanks for the heads-up. I'm stoked to finally get back the Listen Mic compressor.

Can you guys tell me a little about it, and why I might want it?

For $15 you can try it with very little buyer's remorse...

I get that it's cheap, but I have the Waves Mercury bundle, with at least 150- 200 plug-ins, the UAD platform available, Apples compressors (which are quite good), Slate's VBC, which is the SSL, Focusrite and a hybrid Shadow Hills type compressor. So if this is redundant, I'd rather buy a nice lunch with my $15. Still, with all that plug-in power, I tend to use only a few plugs of each company, so if one was outstanding, I might try it.
So I would appreciate you guys sharing some more details on how you use it, and what it sounds like.
I haven't upgraded to Superior Drummer 3 yet, and could probably use a Fab Filter Pro II.

Drum Strip is this: Carefully selected collection of five audio processing tools Transient shaper with Transient Invert to bring the attack phase of your drums to life Transient Shaper Audition enables you to isolate and monitor the effect of the Transient Shaper Dedicated drum Gate with range and independent open and close threshold controls High Frequency Enhancer to invigorate top end Low Frequency Enhancer to improve bass frequencies The classic SSL Listen Mic Compressor with additional bypass function to alter the legendary band-limited compression to full range compression Adjustable processor order—because a different processing order is required for different types of drums Input & Output Level metering with additional RMS meters, dynamic range indicators and threshold indicators. All Duende Native plug-ins use the iLok 2 copy protection system. You can find more information about iLok here. The iLok 2 USB Software Authorisation Key is available to purchase from the SSL web store here.

Kinda ironic to see plugin pimping, on a“Real Gear” chat room.

True, and kind of ironic indeed, but then most of us use some version of a hybrid system, so they’re part of today’s real gear users arsenal.

Sad to see it didn’t take long, for this site to become a Gearslutz re-boot.

Some years ago, when they first came out, I purchased the hardware Duende Unit. It was a promising piece, but fraught with problems. At that time I purchased the Vocal Strip at $179.00 and the Drum Strip at $399.00 ( IIRC ) so , at $15.00, a working plugin of the Drumstrip is an amazing deal. Martin, the Drumstrip is probably a plug best used by someone using and recording real acoustic drums. While it's features could be used with VIs, you probably do already have something that will work in that regard.

Thanks keymod, that's the kind of advice I was asking for, certainly not a couple of curt wisecracks from guys who've been here two weeks imported from the purple site..

Sad to see it didn’t take long, for this site to become a Gearslutz re-boot. 😂😂. Get real. It's almost 2018. 90% of guys in legit working studios are using plugins. They're another tool in the toolbox.

They're another tool in the toolbox. Why not using plug ins if they sound good. The more I work in the studio for the last 5 years, the lesser I can understand that we have had the OTB ITB debate. To me its the combination of both worlds. It depends what works...
