I love ProL and I've never known a FF V2.0 to not be a major upgrade so I'm almost certain I'll end up with this. Think my upgrade price is only like $80 anyway.

FF L 2 should be killer like a cat, though if you also want the meow, POWAIR can give you that...but perhaps it merits a different thread.

Where do you use the limiters guys? I hardly ever use any I master my own music so that’s where, mainly. I usually use two instances, set for different algorithms. The “transparent” setting last. They’re the last two processors in my mastering chain. I do sometimes use ProL for non mastering applications. Sometimes something is just being a pain in the ass and a limiter is just the ticket for nailing it down. Like a pointy 12 string or some BGVs or something.

Can be helpful in parallel on kick and snare, but you have to be careful. Output needs to be somewhere useful, not -.02dBFS.

I use some limiting on my bass guitars in heavy mixes.
I'll oftentimes parallel process my bass stuff to a few channels if all I'm given is a DI. One might get distortion. One might focus on adding subs. One might focus on getting pick attack. They'll all get blended back with the original bass DI.
Sometimes those subs and pick attack channels get really crazy all over the place with levels. Step on 'em with a limiter and they can get really solid and consistent to blend back in with the dynamic performance of the original DI.
I'll also limit room mics, sometimes limit the drum overheads to push the snare back into the cymbals a little, and I've found a lot of use for limiters in controlling some non-expertly-played percussion/claps stuff.

I think people will like this. I just spent 5min pushing an old DR14 mix to DR7 in Mixbus. So, some combo of the Mixbus tape emulation and the ProL2. 5min. If I were going to release it, I'd want to mitigate some odd resonances....you know--like once you remove the transients from triangles in a mix, um....that's a nasty sound....it unearthed (or created) some teenie nasties in the vocal....but, I mean all in all....normal mix to loud master that arguably most end users couldn't hear the flaws in....5min.
They will sell a lot of these to people who love loud masters.

Aw damn... I guess I'm gonna have to buy this update for christmas. Pro-L is probably my most-used plugin of all time. It's the only plugin I have loaded into my bare project templates in Cubase on the mix bus.

No other reason than I just think it sound better. I usually use harmonics 1 and it just sounds bigger, punchier and deeper. Could just be attack settings on the Pro-L2...the stealth doesn’t have that option.
