Anybody else get an Email from Magix offering a download bundle of Samplitude Pro X3 Suite for $149 USD? It includes full versions of Sound Forge Pro 11, Spectral Layers Pro 4, and Samplitude Pro. Includes other "goodies" and an "essential" version of Melodyne. I can't find it on their site. Offer only reachable by Email link... never used Samplitude. Anybody have comments on any or all? My main interest is a cheap Sound Forge upgrade from Sony's version of Sound Forge 8.

Samplitude is a fabulous program. I used it for many years before switching to a Mac and Logic. If Samplitude was cross platform and competently marketed, I think it would have a much larger user base.

Thanks for the reply bradd. I've been pretty happy with Reaper, but glad to hear you were a happy Samplitude user. I may find some extra inspiration in a new DAW. Still kicking the idea around, but may jump on the bundle before the 6 day offer expires.

I think it's the most advanced daw out there if you're not looking for music production tools like soft synths samplers etc. it also the most customizable with multiple skins and assignable shortcuts. It's really easy to adopt.
The only problem is bug fixes. Not being one of the big 3. Gonna take a while before 3rd party developers get to you.

Welp, I went ahead and ordered it. The object based editing sounds interesting. The offer was somewhat confusing though. The Email mentioned an "upgrade" AND "Switch to Samplitude PRO X3 with SpectraLayers for just $149.00!" <-- Actual text in the quotes... In the "Requirements", no mention of needing to have a previous version of anything. I sent an Email for clarification. The Reno office is closed 'til Monday... nice

I was using Samplitude Pro in 32bit and really liked it. When I changed to a 64bit machine some problems occurred and I haven't used it in a while. One thing on my list for the coming year is to get it up and running in 64bit so I can use it again.

I just got an Email from Magix confirming that the offer is for the full version of Samplitude Pro X3... Not required to own a previous version of anything. So, it's a combined upgrade/switch... This is officially a crazy deal!

Definitely. And you just experienced the most annoying thing about Magix : things are never clear. Sometimes, you just wonder how they are thinking, or how they are marketing. You will find weird stuff in the software too : no mono outputs. Clumsy take management. BUT ! The DAW sounds extremely transparent and clean, the object editing is like adding another dimension to an audio software, stock plugins are really good. You feel like lots of usual limitations have been taken away when you get to know it. The learning curve is quite steep, but the users forum is very helpful and friendly. Kinda reminds me of here. Happy mixing !
