I had the Dizengoff D4 REDD 47 style preamp for a while. I hear something similar in the high end on the Chandler, so it's something in the Abbey Road design. It's like an energy in the highs that makes the highs sound very full, but not edgy or exaggerated.
The Chandler has that same wonderful quality and more. The effortless articulation the design brings to vocals makes you more confident. You can sing certain phrases quietly, knowing they won't get lost in the mixdown sauce. You end up needing less compression that way, which is a very good thing.

Wow - this mic is killer! I just recorded my sax on it - and the Chandler handled a bright modern tenor sax like a champ. Here's some samples. This is raw and flat - completely unprocessed. Normally an unprocessed sax would tear my head off - but even with a brighter horn and setup, the Chandler sounds so sweet. Second clip is the same recording with just some reverb. Recorded in normal mode. soundcloud.com/user-934989569/sets/darren-rahn-tenor-sax-on-chandler-redd-microphone
