Enjoyed this. Really liked hearing the different mics here. I thought it was smart to switch mid-phrase.
i learned I may need to check acoustical phase. Makes perfect sense.
Dude should sell all those mics and get a chandler. #clueless #nobodygetssarcasmontheinternet

Very nice. Really cool preparation. But he chose the one mic I would have ditched ! Too mid-rangy. I liked the 67 the best.

Would have gone with the c12a or the requisite huge mic lol if I remember the order correctly, I may have them mixed up a tad ... yeah the 67 has been modded or the de emphasis has been removed ...

I haven't heard more than a few 67's but I was surprised how bright his was. They're a little tetchy about what compressor you use with them (and how much GR you use of course), with an LA-2A they sound rather dark and thick.. I tried mine through Mjuc (testing plugs) and it sounded rather bright and a little hollow...

The L7 hurts my ears, SM7 wins for me, Watching Neil Finn Infinity sessions, moved Quested 308s to bed room. Just for it, man Neil & Tim on SM7's ! The Big old U47 was sweet, but the SM7 9/10's for what 1/300th the cost? Always forget what an SM7, RE20 Heil/ Steadman, MD441 can do!

Can't beat an SM7B in a mediocre / bad room, I mean the offside rejection / EMI resistance is fantastic and is a lot of times a saving grace.. The only issue I have with them is they're a little murky and trying to get a lot of presence out of them can be tricky as ultimatley you want to avoid a lot of EQ.. But I can't count the amount of times they've saved my ass, so they are in my top 5..

I was really surprised by the SM7. I liked the C12 and Modded U67 the best. For me the difference was taste and vibe. I felt like I didn't hear enough of the U47 to judge it. I didn't particularly like the big mic.
I loved the stuff about the phase. I've been having some monitoring issues. I have to see if switching the phase would help. Sometimes it's hard to hear myself while singing without cranking it up crazy loud. Hmm. I'm curious. It could also be that I sing too damned loud. Lol.
