Cowboy reminded me of this. Damn this is an impressive plugin. Agreed, I had Ozone 5 and TBH the masters I did with that are some of the best I've ever done.. So I keep frittering between this and T-racks because some seem to believe IK Stealth is better.. There's DMG and A.O.M to consider as well. I've heard it's not quite straight forward to get great results with DMG, but once you understand the product it's one of the best limiters.

Stealth has been my go to for a while, but the metering is terrible. Love the sound of it. Ozone 7 can replace a few things for me.

I just discovered the DMG Limitless and it's a must-have for me. At sort-of sensible settings (threshold <-7.0 or so), it doesn't distort. At all. It is more likely to obviously distort with ISP engaged but you just back off a bit. Transparent mode rules - it controls peaks (snare hits, usually) but doesn't kill the tonality of them. I'll be buying it before the demo period runs out for sure. It's replacing Fabfilter Pro-L. Of course, YMMV, but there's a 30-day trial period. Try it, you might like it.

Anyone compared Ozone to Wavelab? I upgraded my rig and was using no wave burner but that's not going to cut it anymore. I need something with really good metering.

I was using Slate FG-X and got so tired of it distorting all the time. Mixed one song through Limitless and have never wanted for anything else. No distortion!

Cool has anyone tried Ozone against DMG? I had the same issues with FGX, distortion and sometimes it warped the stereo field.

Can’t wait to upgrade my ozone 5 to ozone 7... hope I can get the plugin that has the individual break out plugs cuz the all in one can eat up cpu after a few are instantiated in a busy session ...

Mainly I like to use the Imager and Dynamics. Presets are good enough that I never thoroughly studied the manual. I probably will look at it more in-depth soon.

Imager is the one thing I haven't really immediately gotten along with. For imaging or pushing really wide I've been using Goodhertz stuff. Love their plugs.

I've reached the conclusion that all "imaging" stuff is crap, yes even with hardware. I don't have a good enough listening environment to righty discern when its used correctly. It basically throws a mix out of phase to create the illusion. I'm sure John, massivemastering can use it to a benefit but I can't. I always end up screwing a mix up with it.
I think just stick with panning decisions and let the chips fall where they may.

Couldn't agree more, besides the slightest adjustments it just wrecks the mix..

My buddy Jamie made a great point about width effects--- why use them on the whole mix when you can do individual channels and thereby control what collapses in mono? That said, I still don't really use the stuff.

That said, I still don't really use the stuff. That's what I'll do a lot of times. I'll use the Goodhertz Midside Matrix on stuff like B3...something I want a little wider. As for widening the whole mix, the only think I might do is use a compressor in M/S on the 2 bus and maybe pull up the side just a tad to add a little width. That's worked well for me.

I disagree with all... I have never had a phase issue using the imager. I use it for mixing or mastering snd making the low end mono while pushing the mid hi band a bit ...
When you instantiate the imager play the chorus and right click in the spectrograph and click “ learn “ .. This will auto map the bass according to Tj material for the least amount of phase shift. After you have done this use the low band to mono the mix if needed ( -100 ) and I never push the high bands more than 15-20% ... no phase issues
Mainly used when I mix two tracks with vocals and then paid to master ... Some producers produce in logic or ableton where everything is stereo smh so in these cases where I don’t have the track or this works wonders...
Give it a try and you will prob change your mind 😀 edit: I’m in ozone 5 still

Ok izotope... ozone does not need an upgrade every year this is so annoying and quickly becoming a very good expensive plugin... Ozone 5 still working like a charm for me 🤠

Every time I've messed with the iZotope stuff I've been super impressed. Nectar on vocals can be very sweet as well.
