Are these jacked? I seem to be getting different RMS readings in PTs compared to other plugs - IK Metering, Waves, etc. When I get RMS up to around -10ish in other meters, it's showing as peaking at like -5 in PTs. I have kinda lived by PTs, but often find my "masters" less loud than others.

Does Pro Tools, do LUFS metering? Thats a better way to get loudness handled...
cheers

I dunno - I'm probably just being stupid but it seems to me that any "RMS" measurement taken within a DAW would be more or less arbitrary, given that "RMS" refers to average voltage levels and voltage levels per se don't actually exist within a DAW. It also seems to me that an "RMS" level taken by the DAW itself might not agree with one taken by a plugin depending on the gain staging of the DAW itself and where in that gain staging the DAW takes the measurement relative to the point the plugin is inserted in the DAW's chain? Am I just being dumb or what?

I do remember something about RMS readings being off by about 3dB on something, somewhere back when I had my RME interface... when I was doing K system calibrations.... but I don't use pro tools, it was either Sonar or Logic back then...
cheers
