What do you guys do for cable strain relief?
my interface (motu 16a)has 32 trs in/out points and just recently had to be replaced after only two years. I think it might be due to the strain the weight of the cables are putting on the unit.
wondering how others approach the problem

I use one of those industrial zip-ties with the screw holes in the end and I screw it to the inside of the rack to take the weight off the connectors.

When i saw the thread I first thought you were talking about strain reliefs like one uses on stage boxes and I was going to recommend a woven Kellams grip, but that's probably overkill here. There is a type of Kellams grip with a woven portion that goes over the cable with a loop of cable reinforced with a horseshoe shaped piece of solid metal that gets attached to something solid, but that's also overkill here. The woven Kellams grip strain reliefs the end of the cable against flexing and pulling, but I don't think that's going to be much of a problem in this application.

I just use spring clamps on my racks.
Zip tie the snake cables to the spring clamps, Clamp the spring clamps to the top back of the rack.
Relief.
If my setup was more permanent, I'd screw or staple the zip ties to the underside of the top of the rack. I know that my not-too-terribly-distant future is going to include a complete new desk and rack layout. I'm staying modular enough to learn how I like to work until then.

They make a product called a "lacing bar". If your rack has rear rails, attach it then get a Velcro cable tie. I use them all over the place.

The lacaing bar idea was my first inclination, but the zip ties with screw holes look pretty awesome. I don't have rear rack rails and really don't want to bother with buying/installing a pair.
Thanks for the feedback everyone.
