I only use Dither when going from 24 bit to 16 bit File internally within the DAW. I could not even fathom using dither on every track of my mix. You might as well kill me now.

I followed this discussion attentively at the purple place. Tried a few flavors of Airwindows dither before all my IO plugins. Couldn't hear a meaningful difference, but I kept them on. I then decided that whoever coded that Logic plugin was smarter than me and would have added a simple triangular dither to it. I took off the dither plugins. My mix was still kicking ass, if I say so myself!

My Mytek AD dithers if you chose 16 bit out. Of course. That's a mastering function, so to speak. Self-dithering DAC? I wonder how this could be possible technicallly. If it induces noise, it is noise, not dither, because it gets a 24 bit signal - after conversion... too late for dither.
