RIP Allan. Another great gone....... mrholmes - you mother is a smart lady. I'd amend that to say that every day is a special gift from the moment we are born. No guarantees.

I remember seeing Allan Holdsworth at The Golden Bear across form the pier in Huntington Beach, California. It's another California landmark that's gone also. R.I.P.

Crossed paths with Allan several times through the years. Very nice guy, and one of the most brilliant musicians of the 20th and 21st centuries. His contributions were massive, glorious, and undervalued. He'll certainly be missed, but luckily for all of us he left behind a lot of music to listen to and to study. Enjoy your well-deserved rest, Allan.

Allan was one of the few Steinberger guitar players. (I'm another one.) Allan's custom Carvin model guitar used Steinberger hardware.
