I scored a Serpent Audio SB4000 a few months back. Been using it quite a bit lately and it has some circuit quirks. Do you guys know a good tech that has worked on these? I emailed Serpent Audio about this months ago and never heard back.

Are there Serpent build guides and bom's?

I still haven't finished building the SB4000 I started over a year ago.
To much DIY'ing and having to chase up additional parts which most local suppliers don't have.
Trying to get hold of a SIFAM meter was a total pain in the arse and they seemed to be a cheaply made overpriced POS from what I saw.
Needs to be sold as a COMPLETE kit IMO with a pre punched case.
OK rant over!

I posted some questions on that thread back in december. No feedback whatsoever. Anyway, the filter section of mine seems wonky and I'd like it fixed because other than that it's a killer stereo bus comp for drums. I didn't build it and I'm not super interested in spending tons of time figuring it out. Just checking to see if anyone knows a tech that's worked with them.

Not complete. Minus case, power supply, meter and a bunch of other stuff. This is what I was given to build on behalf of a friend. I went through two 1RU cases trying to find one that works and will still need to do a bunch of mods to fit the front panel to it. I guess I got used to building 500 series stuff from Jeff Steiger and other suppliers that have EVERYTHING included. It took over two months to get hold of a Sifam meter which looks like it was made in a cave. Serpent showed PCB mount screw terminal headers in the description but sent crappy crimp versions instead. I threw them in the trash and spent another $50 on screw terminal headers from Mouser. Don't get me started...!!!

Built mine a couple years ago with the pcb , kit , case and front panel and while my memory is definitely garbage I don't recall any problems getting mine working.

I know he is teching gear again. Hundreds of people, if not thousands have built them and love them. It is virtually the same thing has the SB 4001 but in a 1U. It is also much easier build then the GSSL. It is worth getting it going.
