Just trod this last night. Actually sounds pretty damn good. Haven't tried it in console, but the actual plug added some nice punch.

Yep, I like. Especially pushing it hard into saturation. I think its pretty special meaning its a leap in the plug-in world regarding feeling closer to analog saturation. I still like Slates SSL buss compressor the best, I assume UA will update that next, judging by this update Im excited to hear it. Plug-ins are really getting good!

Nothing like a little healthy competition: try the softube console 1 some time too

I've read people like the Waves one better, but they bundled it.....
The thing holding me back is the gate. The Fabfilter Gate looks easier to use.

nope still got all my plugs and my octo satellite but I have always wanted to be more mobile with my laptop: mix up by the fireplace , at the coffee shop: what ever ! with console one, I can now do that and you can either bring the controller ( usb connection) or they have a gui with rotaries you can control with your mouse I am bothered by UA's can't sell my plugs ins as I choose policy and worried about it flirting with a subscription model which would further lower the value of the my plugs ins if I were trying to sell them which I am. I think UA products are some of the best am just kid of heading off in another direction, still looking at a real console and more OB too, the console 1 and the faderport 8 were an experiment to see how much better itb could be before dropping bigger coin on a real console etc. if anybody has the chance to demo ST Console 1 , I would really recommend it and can use UA plugs if I want

I am waiting...tired of paying again for an upgrade. Using stock plugs for now. I wish unison came in satellite.

Unison never will, as it interacts with the on board ic pres and so only works fully with an apollo interface and in console's unison slot
you can still use the channel strip as a plug in, in the non unison slot

An 8 channel preamp module w/ unison and dsp satellite, without the interface?

don't hold your breath peeps can't even get midi control of console and its only been 3 years plus why wouldn't you just buy a used apollo SF duo or quad ?

I used to own a SF and it sounded so bad I had to sell it. It couldn't compete with my Apogee converters and I wasn't going to spend that kind of money for the I/O I needed.

Maybe I'll put it on reverb.

The new UAD SSL channel strip sounds really great. Good times we're living in. Time to make some more music!

Glad to hear the UAD version is good. I was very disappointed in the Waves version and haven't found it useful.

I bought the Waves years ago... haven't used it other than a few sessions after I got it. New UAD is far superior in my opinion

bare in mind, they want 3-4% plus Paypal will take the same ? you guys seem to forget that "Send Money To Friends/Family" is free for the recipient, and free for the sender if they already have a paypal balance or linked to their checking account. I don't think i've ever used the "pay for goods" buying 2nd hand gear unless it was thru ebay. All of my clients use Send Money To Friends/Family to pay me and it doesn't cost 'em a stamp, fees, or anything.

When buying/selling with total strangers (a la Reverb) the "goods and services" option is the norm.

Agreed Ragan, I don't begrudge PP the 3-4% to have 100% insurance on the sale price and shipping if I am buying from strangers.
My symphony mkii got lost for almost 2 weeks in shipping, without PP, insurance, based on having a tracking humber, I would have been screwed if it hadn't shown up.

Hey Matt, FWIW I called PayPal to check out the shipping insurance thing because you'd mentioned that you thought PP covered that within the fee. They don't. The only thing they offer is if you buy your shipping label through them, they say their shipping insurance is cheaper than market rate. Just a heads up.

They contradict themselves as I was told the opposite recently unless they have yet again changed their policies Anyway I was more concerned about the purchase replacement insurance and that definitely kicked in when I lodged my dispute.

Yeah for sure, the replacement coverage is what matters. Weird about the shipping insurance thing. I was hoping to not pay it and called and that's what they told me.
