I use it. It's pretty alright. You do need to be careful. I have only used it for kick ducking bass. Just a simple quick side chain comp.

THE END DAYS ARE UPON US!!!! Seriously, the innurwebz meme of "EQ Carving" is one of the most destructive, evil, and insidious things to hit audio production since.... Autotune, or.......... Bleat Matching, or.................. The volume war and slammed mastering, or........................... bargain basement recording hardware, or.................................. EQ carving is nothing more than a dirty band-aid applied to a recording that wasn't arranged properly in the first place. Or an excuse for a mix guy who never learned to ride levels properly.

Yea everyone knows it's the inanimate tools that are evil and not the way people use them. Especially in a field where the very ideas of "good" and "bad" are subjective. End of days indeed.

I'm not sure how EQ carving has caused an entire industry to fall on it's knees like Heather Graham in Boogie Nights.....
