back. Wooohooooo!! Line6 EchoFarm 3.0 for AAX. line6.com/echo-farm/Nothing else sounds like it but the real hardware. I went thru every delay plugin on the market and then ended up buy 2-3 hardware units when they stopped developing the TDM plugin back when PT10 came out. Missed it ever since. The hardware might have a slight edge, but I just can't fit enough of them in a rack. The deluxe memory man emulation changed my mixing life. Super happy day here.... Instant buy for PT users.

That does sound pretty fantastic. What does it do that Echo Boy, H-Delay, D-16, etc. doesn't do? Better quality? It certainly seems like a much easier interface.

I'm OK with a lot of the "digital" sounding digital delays. It's the analog ones that most plugins can't match. I LOOOOOOOOOOVE the deluxe memory man setting on the EchoFarm. The version that Line 6 did just sounds "right" to me and fits into the mix better than any other plugin I've tried. Haven't tried the latest, greatest but I've had echo boy for years and it can't touch the line6 memory man setting. The echo farm fits into a mix just like hardware.

drbill You like a plug in? Go and see a MD asap. LOL Hahaha!! Dr's orders says more echo farms = good echo farms. I'll still keep using the hardware, but I'll use them on aux sends/returns. The plugin will be nice for use on inserts. For electric guitar NOTHING sits in a mix better. IMO of course. :-)

How much is the plug? I didn't see a price.

I think their Echo Park sound samples sound much better for guitar.

Remember when Line6 was the laughing stock of digital effects?
Pepperidge farm remembers.

I have my doubt if this is the only cool delay plug in.... but no one can beat personal taste. If it works for drbill we now know at least one plug in he likes.

The echo farm fits into a mix just like hardware. I have to remember this sentence by you, it proofs it can be done and is already realty not only with the echo farm. If I remember right you said something similar about reverb one day. Anything can be done in digital its just the question of doing it right.

There are other "digital" delays that I definitely prefer hardware on. But the Deluxe Memory Man is of course a guitar pedal. It's analog. It has cool modulation features. The L6 hardware sounds a TINY bit more 3D for me, but the plugin version is absolutely OK. Now.....all this said, I'm speaking of the TDM versions. I've been told the new AAX version is identical to the TDM and hardware - just ported to AAX. I didn't have time to nab it yet today, but will soon. If it sucks, then I'll be wrong. heh heh But I suspect it will still sound great like it always has.

The echo farm fits into a mix just like hardware. Anything can be done in digital its just the question of doing it right.Maybe. But in 2017, I'm afraid not. The vast majority seem to not be able to attain "right". There's about 20-30 things sitting in my rack that defy your (my bolded) statement. I'll continue to let my ears and not digital hype decide. But in the case of SOME things, plugins can be OK. In the meantime, my AD/DA is growing exponentially, and the gear in my racks is growing as well. At some point I'll have to cap it off..... heh heh

The debate HW vs Digital is nothing but stupid. I came to this conclusion because I sold my WA76s. To my ears the plug ins are very very close to the HW. Because I love true TT they had to leave the rack. I now search for something that no one captured digital. Any suggestion??

I'll give you that. <thumbsup> But mediocre vs. great is not stupid IMO. I have not heard the Warm 1176's. I have the Splices though, and I can assure you that no plugin I've heard (I've not heard every single one, so there is some degree of doubt) is not even close. So in that case, hardware does indeed trump plugins. As for "everything", that's obviously impossible to quantify. I don't know what true "TT" is. I'm not sure what you are looking for in your search. Maybe you can elaborate? Not sure this is the right thread though. Good luck with your search. bp

Remember when Line6 was the laughing stock of digital effects? Pepperidge farm remembers. The cash from Yamaha, and hiring smart people make all the difference! Who would have thought Behringer/ Music Group, Presonus and Line 6 would be major players?

Yep, I had this delay back in the day.. And I remember it as described here, it just worked. Of course my mixes werent any good then, I will most certainly test drive. I assume they offer a demo?

I am sort of a delay freak these days. So that's pretty cool. Even though I don't have Pro Tools, hahaha.
