I'll post my impressions on arrival. They are an upgrade from Dynaudio BM5s. I should be able to notice a difference.

24-48 hrs (itunes library) listening volume.
Helps the speakers open up.

Matt, Interested in what you think, they left me unimpressed, but I didn't have that much time with them. The big ones with the Volts are a sound to behold, but the Two Twos just didn't do it for me.

I'm on my second day with them. Some things are immediately obvious:
Run-in is critical. PMC recommends 50 hours. I'm suffering through it now with the likes of Zeppelin, Steely Dan, Sturgill Simpson, Prince, Queen, Frank Sinatra, etc etc. Out of the box they sounded tight and bass-light below 200hz or so. After 10 hours the improvement is noticeable; playback sounds fatter and the low frequency response is kicking in.
Even at this early point in the run-in process, they sound very flat to me. There is no frequency-hyping that I can hear - just the facts, ma'am. I would speculate that this feeling will get stronger as the woofer settles from use.
They are clean clean clean and reveal ANY distortion from anywhere in the signal chain. iTunes sounds compressed and distorted (as it should). I immediately discovered that I was driving my Sigma and two-bus chain too hard. Adjustments to the gain structure were obvious in a way not hearable through the BM5s.
The stereo image is excellent. Amazing, even. My vocalist kept saying that it sounded like he had great headphones on. This was his sentiment listening from about 12 feet away. I find that I can pick out anything in a mix, and that I tended to place things too wide. The buzzword is "revealing", and they are precisely that.
The Honeymoon is on. I'll update more as things progress. Also, I am ordering a twotwosub2, and the rc1. In for a penny . . .

Wow falling hard huh π€π So glad to hear you are happy with them so far. I would really get them burned in for 75 hrs then start mixing! After a few mixes then let us know what you think π I'm sure things will only get better and better from here, especially since you went all in with the sub (s) as well.. Looking forward to hearing more about your new twotwo complete setup and how you like the sub ( s ) being integrated with the two two 8. The bass will definitely feel/ sound " more apparent " after burn in as well. They will go lower and louder than you realized!

listen carefully to how the bass settles and your sub may deal with this.
when I was demoing the pmc, psi and atc a few weeks ago, I agree the mid to top of the pmc is excellent but I thought there was a woolly quality to the bass in comparison to the the other monitors ? The bass was there but it had a different sound quality to it ?
