That was a big guitar D-28. Lots of midrange. Yeah just saying change the guitar & I would need the other mic, that is often the problem and why at one point I had 10 SDC's! They all worked just right in different situations, he'll change the song and I would want the Gefell over the 84. In a way John that might be part of your thing with going back and forth, change mood, song or instrument and the Grass looks greener. Many simple follow the most popular or some guy on the net because it's easy!

I'm down to one acoustic these days (albeit a badass one) so no chance in changing guitars lol.

Big difference to my ears. Having used a few of them, I thought A was pretty recognizable as the 84... more natural, more low mids, less HF boost. Thanks for doing this.... now I don't have to bother demo-ing the Gefell. It was the only mic missing from the shootout I posted a while back. Still happy I ended up buying a Josephson C617 though...
