This looks really great and coming in at $299. I'm gonna have one to test in comparison to my Upton PS, so I'll post my thoughts. Doh...I totally missed the point of this. Use this for dedicated phantom for your SS LDC's and SDC's...

Why would you need a 48 volt supply for your tube mic John?
Or am I missing something?

Sorry - don't know why I said Upton. Didn't read that carefully enough

I'll try with the SDC's and SS mics I have.

I wholeheartedly believe in robust and overbuilt power supplies. I've never given 48v supplies much thought though. Nice to have a high end alternative to the $0.08 cent 48v supplies in some interfaces.....

Steve from Coil claims the difference isn't subtle. I'm interested to find out.
I had a long conversation with him and just scanned the small pic of what he sent and assumed it was just that - an overbuilt PS. Which, honestly, if it made a 2% change in the sound, I would probably go for it at that price...but I guess it's only for phantom powered mics. I ain't too technical up in my noodle, so the idea that you can't just willy-nilly replace tube PS's didn't occur to me.
