I am still a little bit surprised and I cant explain it to my self. Here is the story: In my mic locker there are still my first SDC the t-bone SC 100 from the world greatest retailer Thoman. Normal they sound raspy, they tend to smear transients, and the low end is sloppy. www.thomann.de/de/the_tbone_sc140_stereoset.htmFor a any reason my instinct told me today to place them in a dry spot, in front of absorbers, and not to use the 1073. I used the clean RME preamp. And to my surprise this combination sounds killer. I added a few harmonics in the rough mix... bang. We have been surprised how good the mic performs with a low cost mic preamp. I can not believe it....

Be good to hear a clip. Also, read a few good things about Fame mics - think they are from German distributors?
