Been arguing with myself about buying a Damage Control Womaniser pedal listed locally - these were like the Cadillac's of pedals in their day , I was always too broke to get one. Now I wonder if it's just nostalgia ..
He makes cool pedals, but they are a bit elitist. As in, super expensive. Well built, for sure. But sometimes your talking upwards of $500 or more for a pedal. I mean, sure they sound good, but so do Analogman pedals and a dozen other makers. It's a boutique market, and I think these are crafted as much for the collector, maybe more.
I have the Spaceman Saturn V #84, it's got a GREAT attitude, but doesn't really suit my playing style. I actually use very little drive or distortion. I ask pedal companies to make me versions that have less drive and more clean gain.
You know where I heard about these was a video posted on this forum. It was the Vance Powell recording rock video. The guitar solo had a Sputnik on it. When I heard the sound of that thing I was doomed.
