So first session with Symphony mkii went well but I must have screwed up a Maestro setting as I had lot of latency. Apogee CS sorted things out today.
But last night I did my 12 takes in different sessions and not in the original.
Two issues, is there any easy way to export 4-5 tracks of drums from one session and import them into the original ?
2nd question, I feel like the timing is a little funny so was reading about beat mapping, if you like a take but the timing is a little off what do you recommend as a fix in logic ??
thx !

yes, you can import things from one session into another.
Is it tracked to a click?
cheers

(we might have to do a phone call to go over this stuff.)

I know that audio can be exported and imported but was wondering about 4-5 tracks at a time ?
yes was recorded to click but at one point we may have brought click down in volume and he was more playing to song.
a call would be great I'll pm so we could set something up ?

Props to our pal Wiz , who just spent an hour on the phone chatting gear and walking me through the process of importing all the tracks into my original session and discussing next steps.
Thanks mate !

If you navigate to a Logic file in the Media browser (All Files) tab, when you double click on the file, the media tab will show you all of the tracks within the session. You can choose to import tracks, track i/o settings, automation, or track contents. You can also import stuff like Tempo maps, markers, and other 'Global Track' items. I use it all the time to keep my templates updated. I'll work on a project, and dial in some plugins a little bit better than the last time I used the template. Instead of doing "Save As Template", i'll create an empty project and import all of the tracks from the project that has the updated settings, excluding the track content (regions/automation). It's helpful esp. when I don't want every track. It's also super useful if I know that I want to grab the drum settings I used on a song that I was really happy with the drum mix on, or grab some piano/EP tracks that have my favorite sounds already dialed in. www.dummies.com/software/logic-pro-x/import-settings-and-content-from-other-logic-pro-x-projects/ d2r5da613aq50s.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/447808.image1.jpg

With Wiz's help I was able to bring all drum tracks into my original sessions: thx Peter !
When I was investigating one of the separate drums takes sessions 15 of 15, it turns out logic was saving all the takes in take folders from all the sessions, even through I saved and started 15 separate sessions ?
Other good news, in terms of timing, at about session 8 I put up my 47 which added nicely to the room sound but forgot to measure its distance from the drums in relationship top the other mikes, so when I looked at my wav files, the 47 track was seriously unaligned and playing part of the last take and then other takes: logic was playing a Comp file even though I didn't comp it.
So, when I opened the take folder, I was able to find the actual common tracks and then use those. When I moved the 47 wav file into alignment, of course, my over all drum timing issues were resolved.
So now, I am back to good raw drum tracks, all aligned and I can work on the mix.
Thx Wiz and not certain why logic was a little confused, perhaps the computer was overheating at the end of the long session ?

you may have been saving a project using "Save a copy as", but I'm pretty sure it doesn't open the newly saved one and set it as the working copy.
You should read up about the auto-save that's built into logic. Check out the Revert/Versions menu under the File menu.
